For anyone in the DC area or who can listen to streaming audio online between noon and 1pm, there will be a live panel discussion about virtual worlds on WAMU 88.5 FM (an NPR station from American University). Panelists will include Philip Rosedale, Edward Castranova (of Terra Nova fame), David Johnson (New York Law School), and yours truly (token avatar). It's a call-in show that takes questions from listeners. Hopefully I won't get all nervous and sound like a mumbling idiot. If you can't listen during the actual broadcast they put up archives of each hour a few hours after they air. More info here: http://wamu.org/programs/kn/

That's fantastic, Chip. I'm glad such an honest-to-God capitalist will be representing us on such a live and interactive forum. I couldn't think of anyone better for the role.

Thanks! I'll do my best not to sound like a moron, hehe. It should be a trip. It'll either be something to tell the grandkids about, or something to pretend never happened.

From: Joy Honey Woot I didn't know you were FIC!! *giggles* hehe, apparently the segment producer saw a newspaper article I was interviewed in and noticed I was local. Should be interesting. Kojo is a great host. He's good at keeping the conversation on track and is always pretty neutral so it won't be a "I think virtual worlds are stupid. Panelists, defend yourselves!" kind of deal.

Awesome, Chip. Congrats. As Enebran said, I'd be hard pressed to think of anyone better suited. I'm sure you'll be great. Can't wait to hear it.

Excellent Chip! I will be listening.
I work in radio and the best advice I can give you is this:
Don't ramble on for a 10 second spot. Go straight to the point.
I'm sure you will do just fine.

From: Jonquille Noir Would it be possible to stream this into SL? And if so, anyone want to host it on their land? Should be no problem, I stream my local public radio station WDET on my lands all the time. I access it via windows and Mac os. http://wamu.ic.llnwd.net/stream/wamu_wamuI'll put it on the Biloxi and Big Easy sims for your enjoyment but I will be listening at work at that time. It is scheduled to be on at noon est, therefore 9:00 to 10:30 am slt (pst). How about you host it there, Jonquille? I'll post the event if you'd like.
