Perhaps there's a difference between "wearing silks because they look pretty" and "wearing silks because girl is a slave".
Not everyone would be aware of the use of 'silks' in bdsm, Gor and suchlike. I know I certainly wasn't until I came to Second Life. Lewis _____________________

"best" silks is something to get one in trouble but I can say that there are lots of nice ones out there. I know that whenever my club has a silk contest there is always something that blows me away. Suffice it to say there are vendors on my island that sell "contest winning" silks

If you take any odd Master from SL, and look into his RL you'd find he's probably in a basement, age 30, with a very low level of self-worth, thus he uses SL to push a sense of selfworth. Similarly Gorean women, are so depressed that I have witnessed them breaking down and crying both here on the forums and online. NOT the actual D...I don't like, it's the "D" word, same goes for the "P" word and "C" word. Eeewwwwww!!! Just a pet peeve of mine! I like the D word and love the P word, I hate the C (fem) word but don't mind the C (male) word, which if used properly can induce goose bumps. _____________________

"Silks of the Victor" was a highly prized item back then, and since it's slightly variable, "Who's got the best silks?" was a common title for threads. Diablo II was my favorite time robber before SL. I don't know, I think it would be kind of fun to role play a total sex object just available for someone's sexual gratification. The fact that it's Second Life and doesn't affect my real emotional and financial standing would make it fun.

I prefer friends over play-things. I think if I were ever to get involved with Gor, I'd have to be a Panthergirl... at least from what I understand of the mythos. No way am I going to be anyone's sex object, nor could I be a 'Free Woman' and wear the gorean equivalent of a burka. That said, they do have some nice clothes. I think it simply attracts those who have problems with that already. I did play in Gor for a while. It was fun to do roleplay for a change. But when it became clear to me that some of these folks weren't roleplaying, it was time for me to go. There are some great people there, and I've made some good friends there that I talk to even outside of SL, but the drama became too great. Too many codependent behaviors and borderline personalities. I'm sticking out my neck a bit in saying this, as I do design silks. I think they're pretty. They're fun to make. You can get quite imaginative with them. In fact, the creativeness in the Gor sims makes them a wonderful place to visit. But I can't bring myself to spend much time in them anymore. I start feeling uncomfortable pretty quickly. If you take any odd Master from SL, and look into his RL you'd find he's probably in a basement, age 30, with a very low level of self-worth, thus he uses SL to push a sense of selfworth. Similarly Gorean women, are so depressed that I have witnessed them breaking down and crying both here on the forums and online. There's some good truth there, but it'd be a mistake to say that of everyone. Some are just looking for a kinkier version of D&D. Some really take this as a lifestyle and think the Gor philosophy is something that should apply to everyone. I'd recommend anyone who wants to get involved in Gor to understand what motivates their slave/master/partner/whatever to be there. _____________________
