Great places to visit? Suggestions?

Anyone have any "must-visit" locations in Second Life they can recommend for me to feature in upcoming issues of Digital Traveler, a magazine I'm finally close to publishing?

I'm looking for vacation spots, wedding & honeymoon locations, getaways, out-of-the way places no one's heard of, hidden locations... pretty much any cool place to visit or vacation in Second Life.

It's okay to submit your own locations, I'm just building a list of places to feature. Just reply to this thread for now, I'm in the process of setting up the magazine's domain name, digitaltraveler.biz. When that's done I'll have a suggestion form on the site when it goes live.

Also, if you're interested in writing articles, taking pictures or other work for the magazine, contact me and let me know and I'll fill you in on what I need. Those of you that have contacted me in the past (in December), please contact me again -- I lost all previously submitted content when a hard drive of mine failed, which is why I'm just now getting back around to launching the magazine.

If you are interested in advertising, contact me as well; advertising rates are super-low right now as we test the waters and get a feel for the market for this kind of publication in SL.

It's still in renovations, but Taco is a great place to visit. It's like stepping into a cartoon. :)

I second that! Throw in Svarga, Seacliff, and Shivar.

May I suggest SERENITY FALLS ? People come to walk throught the flowers, swing beneath the old Cherry tree, seek out the hidden grottos & caves, or enjoy the ocean. They bathe in the ancient pools or chat in the Temple of the Moon! Swim in the hidden mountain lake amongst the waterlillies, boat around the boundaries, or just explore through an underwater Palace! SERENITY FALLS has alot to offer AND will soon have a sister island with even more!

I've been exploring Sanctum Sanctorium lately and the neighbouring sim of Intempesta Nox. (I may have the spelling wrong on that). Its a very "moody" place, I really like it. Lots of little areas to explore, really nice textures and it's great spot for taking snapshots.

Feel free to include my collection of properties (see signature for location) - I'm still rebuilding the Laserquest arena but if you want something that isn't all about sex and gambling, you could do a lot worse.

<shameless self promotion>

Visit Abbotts Aerodrome. New SLers can try out aircraft by a few different designers: in the northwest and southwest corners of Abbotts, try airplanes by me and Arrekusu Muromachi, and on the east side at the top of the hill, helicopters by Jillian Callahan.

IN the middle of Abbotts, there's a public skydiving facility and Terrabuck's Coffee -- all the prim coffee your avatar can pretend to drink! :D

There was a thread about this receintly.

One of the items I liked was the 4 dimentional house.
It's like "The cube" in that the rooms move around behind your back.

The Menorca sim seems real nice, there's a nice outdoor reflecting amphitheatre style build there with a live musician, and an erotica store with some art that's not your garden variety porno. It has a forested look.

Bliss Basin - I just flew around for at least 30 minutes looking at the landscaping and architecture of it all. The way everything looks from an arial view is amazing. It doesn't look completely finished, but it is a must see :)

The Caves of Lascaux!
08-20-2006 21:42
I earlier posted about my recreation of the caves of lascaux, complete with pre-historic cave paintings from around the world! Several people have been already and have given a resounding thumbs up! The caves took me several days to create and were a labor of love of which I'm very proud. Please come check them out! If you follow the slurl below, you will need to look for the entrance to the cave. It is marked by a big stone with a cave painting on it. You will then need to take a long, winding and generally tricky tunnel to reach the main cavern. Then, watch your step! Its quite a drop.

Here's a link to the forum thread i created...

There's an awesome Deep Sea exhibit which is a walk-through Aquarium at Splash Aquatics in Gooruembalchi.

My little, humble park, Eagle River Park is adjacent to it. It has one of Starax's eagles flying around it. :)

Thanks Suezanne for mentioning Menorca,

However there is NO erotica store on my sim at all, in fact Menorca is a sim with four stages, all open air (inc The Hummingbird Cafe which runs Open Mic night every Thursday)
Live music events with many of SL's wonderful Live musicians are held on a regular basis as well as 'The Vodka Interviews' which I run weekly, talking Live to SL musicians, mainly an informal chat about performing in SL and including listening to them play as well.
.
There are no vendors or stores on the sim at all. there are also ( aside from the stages) plenty of chill out areas including an underwater Cavern.
