So, I come back from being AFK, to find my parcel of land completley layered in little physical balls with G-Man (Halflife2) on them, so I do what any intelligent resident would do, greif reported....at least..I tried to. I then realize that the whole sim was down just looking at the minimap (the red tint stuff gets when the sim crashes). So I took the oppurtunity to look around, these werent just in my parcel, they were EVERYWHERE. Now, same with everyone else, I cant log back in. Out of boredom until the grid is back up, I petition we make a list of all the sims hit with this.

Griefer Item Name: GriefSpawn RC3 redo (Redux? I saw redo..)

If you managed to identify the owner of the spheres you can still report them by email.

I imagine they will have plenty of abuse reports filed but it never hurts to add another report.

crashed in sylvata, came back and there were balls everywhere too, so laggy i couldnt find the owner...crashed again, ugh about 10 sims were down around the ribeata telehub

List of sims hit would be all of them, I think. It appears this thing hit the entire grid at once. If you want a definite for the record though, Indigo was buried.

Fortunately script kiddies (I mean the troublemaking script kiddies) are usually too arrogant to hide their tracks that well: his name was all over his objects.

I got a screenshot, but it was a split second too late.

I only got something along the lines of Griefspawn and a string of numbers, but I reported it in time, i think.

In a world that allows scripting, i guess these things are bound to happen. Note for newbies: in a future situation, if you can, bring up the info on one of the event objects, hit printscreen asap - it might be helpful in tracking the offender down.

I randomly found one of these Griefspawn objects (sphere prim with the G-man from Half-life 2) lying around the other day and reported it. Maybe that was some sort of test in preparation for today.

Frankly, I hope LL pursues legal action for what amounts to a denial of service attack.

I noted in my report that the owner appeared to belong to a group related to Something Awful. I've had trouble with griefers coming from the Something Awful forums in other games in the past, so that caught my eye. Apparently, from what I read here, it's not the first time SL has had problems with them either.

Object was a physics enabled ~.25m sphere called "GriefSpawn RC3 Redux". It contained a copy of itself, and a couple scripts, one called "Rezzer"...

I have the name of the kiddie, if LL doesn't.

Palomarian went from 1700 Sim FPS or so down to 2-4 Sim FPS in a matter of <a minute.

Space Sim

Hi everyone, the space sim was targeted today. This is the sim that every other sim in the game relies on. With that sim down the whole game went down. Within three hours SL will be back.

While on my land in Fraxini on Friday night I was disturbed to see a slew of floating images in the air (they seemed to be of a woman's face). The companion I was with didn't see them, so I assumed it was some kind of rezzing oddity and I relogged. Being fairly new, I didn't even think it was a problem to be reported...

Little did I know that there were such evil and childish people in SL...

Suppose I could go do my laundry...
