When I first saw them I thought it was user mischief linked to Halloween... ;-)

Did you happen to see them yesterday afternoon and evening? I ask because I was working on/firing a particle gun in which the particles were affected by wind, and those images look a LOT like what I was doing.

I did that from roughly 4pm through 7pm game time last night.

My neighbour reported such things to me, in the Alice sim.

I told him I was not running any particle scripts and asked to see them. He said they had gone. Huh? We went to search for evidence, but there wasn't any.

The next day he returned with a bad photo of the UFO's. I looked at him, askance, and he admitted the evidence wasn't good. But he swore he saw them. He was a Believer.

I mentioned that there were a number of reasonable explanations, but I could tell that he simply wasn't buying it.

Also, it seems odd that these UFO's were not seen until some among us began to believe in them and spread tales in forums. Mass hysteria, hoax, or urban myth, perhaps?

In Honawan, Tompson, Portage, Lemon, Seacliff, Io and about 8 others I can't remember?

:-)

Nope, it was definitely the update beacons, turned them off and relogged - no jellyfish! ;-)

Oh dear... What have I started? Now I know how the guy who said 'like saucers skipping across the water in a pond' felt like. ;-)

They kind of resemble chat particles. Or something seen with transparency highlighting on.

Well, so much for calling Art Bell!

"International line, you're on the air!"

"Hi, Art, this is Doc calling from Second Life."

"Hi Doc! Do you have a UFO sighting to share tonight?"

"I do, Art,"

"Well, let's hear what you've got."

"Well, there were these red jellyfish above the clouds--"

"Jellyfish!"

"Yes, jellyfish. They would rise and puff away from the clouds in vast swarms."

"How often do you see these jellyfish?"

"They won't leave me alone!"

"You attract flying jellyfish..."

"I wish I knew how to get rid of them already!"

"Well, there's a folk treatment for the curing of jellyfish. I'm not going to describe it on the air, but I think you can figure it out."

Art chuckles ruefully and moves to the next call.

"Wild card line, you're on the air..."

There were several jellyfish flying around the old WA one night a good while ago, before it's move to the damb place.

I think one of them might have been Ryen Jade.
