Flying red jellyfish? UFOs?

No. Honestly, I haven't lost it...

Haven't mentioned this previously as I've had other things on my mind since 1.7 - but has anyone else noticed the swarms of red things, sort of flattened inverted V shapes that appear when you log in and drift gently upward before fading from view after a few seconds?

To me they look like swarms of airborne red jellyfish, others might see UFO's...

Someone tell me it's NOT just me, please?

We're going to need screenshots, Doc. That may be a challenge, though, because the two times in my life where I saw weird stuff in the sky in RL, cameras were nowhere to be found. :)

Just make sure you convert it to JPG, then you can upload as an attachment when you make a new post.

Aren't these just the active script or physical object beacons?

Grrrrr.... I wanted the image IN the post, not a manky link...

Anyway - there PROOF! Now, what the hell are they? Never saw them before 1.7, and I don't think they appeared until 1.7.1 either.

I don't think so, active script beacons appear as thin vertical lines, and I don't have any idea what a physical object beacon looks like. Anyway, all beacon are off, and these onlt appear for about 5 seconds - plus I've seen them in void sims.

It looks like the object update beacons that appear when Debug->Show Updates is checked.

Looks like the full update beacon to me, cause thats what happens when u rez them for the first time. I can't remember but i think ctrl-alt-shift-u turns off show updates

Yup - Show Updates was checked in the Debug Menu! LOL!

Thanks for the help. All gone now, I am Jellyfish free and no longer worried! ;-)

You either have to link to a hosted image OR just attach a single image using the upload tool.

Hey Doc, try uploading just one file, exactly like you did before, but only one. I think that one will show when is included as an attachment, while more than one shows as links.

You may want to go to your User CP, Edit Options, down at the bottom where it says "Message Editor Interface" and select either "Standard Interface - Extra Formatting Controls" or "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" from the dropdown menu, if you haven't done so already.

If you have a picture stored on the internet, say at snapzilla, you can display it by pasting in the text of the picture's url, then highlighting the url and clicking on the
icon.

Indeed, these would appear to be the red beacons that drift upward whenever an object updates when Show Updates is turned on under Debug. I wonder if the client is starting up in this state, then turning it off?
