It's interesting that it is not a violation of TOS for security scripts to knock people all over hell,
Yes it is.

Unfortunately, even if it's written somewhere in the island description when you look them up in "find places" (I.E. no weapons, no flying, etc) people will still do it. There should be some way of making it happen.

*edited to add* and yes, while there are no fly and no script options for the land, as pointed out before people will always find a way around that.

The way I see it... if the attraction really is better from the ground and the effect lost if flying, then those who fly only spoil it for themselves. Personally, if I were asked to abide by a no-fly rule on a sim, then unless I was in a hurry, I would. On the other hand, if I was forced, then I'd just teleport elsewhere.

Definitely NOT!!!

So special exeptions for private islands! Knocking people out of the sky is GRIEFING, plain and simple. If you want people not to fly, give them a notecard and tell them it looks better from ground level. Forcing the issue is just not on.
Er, sorry, but I really do see private islands in a whole different light - you're there for what the island owner is offerng, not just flying over or traveling by.
So if the island owner is offering a game where flying is cheating, they should be allowed to knock you down. There are other games where giving your avatar a shove would be nessesary, including shooters and whatnot. Seems to me that, as it stands, the TOS makes it impossible to build certain games with the provided tools without breaking the rules.
I think it's a fair assumption that if you're on a private island you're there for what's being offered, and if that offering is a shooting game, then it is a you can't file an abuse report for getting shot in a shooting game sort of thing.

Sens, you can eject people from the land and IM them not to fly if they want to visit, or even give them a delay to get back down to the ground before ejecting, instead of pushing down.

It's interesting that it is not a violation of TOS for security scripts to knock people all over hell, and even teleport them home, but preventing them from flying in a NO FLY zone on a private island is a TOS violation. I love how their logic works sometimes.

Wow, exactly, you beat me too it Cristiano.

Sensual, I'm half tempted to suggest you get/create a script that does this anyways. I mean, I've constantly AR'ed abusive security scripts lately and I haven't seen a single one of them come down - I think on your private island you'd be a lot less likely to have someone AR you, especially if you do as Jillian mentioned and give them a fair warning. So the Lindens aren't even enforcing it when it comes to the abusive security scripts I've seen, and on a no-fly private island I'd be even more surprised if anyone gave you any problems over it...

Please show me where it is, Siobhan, I have a security script right next to my home that ejects me into another sim if I accidentally cross into their parcel, have AR'ed multiple times and gotten no results that way...

Why not simply ask, instead of forcing?

Hi Sensual. Like Siobahn, I think your best avenue is to ask people not to...and maybe explain to them why, with a note by the telehub? As people have pointed out, Numbakulla is no fly, but we didn't use anything special - it is possible to use all the work arounds. But most people don't. Possibly you will have more luck if you provide an explanation, some way of getting around the island like teleports, and/or a way of seeing the sim from a vehicle maybe provided by you?

I haven't been to the sim so I don't know what your reasons are for wanting it no fly. I think lots of people dislike it if they think it is just to get dwell - once they realise that there are good reasons for it, most people are very willing to co-operate.

You do make a good point... But, even if it was done as Jillian mentioned, giving you sufficient warning that you were going to be bumped back down to the ground?

Sen, I would, if you do use a script anyways, either try to get the island seperated or at least put up a wall or sign of some sort discouraging people to fly through...

Just outta curiousity Sensual, what's your goal with this? Making a game or something like DarkLife where being able to fly would allow people to get to areas they shouldn't be at yet? Maybe if we knew a bit more about the specifics, there might be a better way to solve your dillema?

The situation is this...
Chaotica Island is a Drive-In, literally! ok well kinda lol
but there are different screens playing different movies with cars and such like a rl drive-in, it is $100 for a 5 hour pass, and people are just simply flying over 30m limit and viewing the movie for free...
$100L is not a lot, but some of that money goes to us to get back the money we paid the builders and designers and another part of it goes to Heir Maelstrom that spends long hours at the drive-in helping people, showing them around etc. and it pisses me off that everyday we get jerks that fly over the limit and help themselves to a free movie, KNOWING it was intended to be a $100 for a 5 hour pass =/

Oh, I have a solution for this that'll please everyone.

Sensor every minute or so, everyone above the height limit then gets a "targeted" parcel media command, stopping the movie for them.

Easy script. Happy to make it for you (once I get home from work).

I dunno if it's written up, but several Lindens have stated here that it was against TOS.
