The comments really helped me sometimes (for instance to know when my idea of colour varieties didn't suit public tastes). Also, because of limited shop space, I would sometimes keep an eye out for an item that didn't get comments to see if it got sales and usually that was an accurate performance indicator (and vice-versa, comments from folks usually (like 90% of the time) were indicators of high sales. I can't tell you how thrilled I was when I got comments from people whose work I have admired. I'd be at work, browsing on breaks, and see someone had commented my post and I'd be all happy-happy for the rest of the day.
Also one other thing: I found that to some extent, postings were an indicator not merely of popularity, but also of the degree to which someone interacted with the content creating community. Since marketing is all about relationship-building, this could also be a research and development tool to help folks realize how well they were doing on that score.

I understand perfectly how thrilled you were. I feel the same way. After working hard, hard, hard on something - then to see someone's comment, in their own words, and their own take on the thing, and how they like it - well, let me tell you, one comment can buoy a person up for at least a day, and inspire you to get to work on your next project! Selling things brings a wonderful feeling, too, but the comments are wonderful in their altogether unique way. And it works both ways. You can comment on something that you really aren't in the market to buy, or are needing. So people who aren't going to buy it can still easily express their admiration for it. At least it was that way for me - though I buy very little and very rarely, I could at least TELL someone how cool and/or beautiful I thought their item was. For instance, obviously, I'm not going to buy anybody's house! But at least I could tell them how much I liked it, and in a much less intrusive and bothersome way than IM'ing them in game would be. coco

I think no bump is the way to go & ty for posting this poll.
& for the people who want no reply: here's a tip: no one is forcing you to read it!!
If you want no reply so much why are you replying to any thread at all? If you think any opinion should be muted because you disagree with it then why have forums in the first place? Don't bother replying to this post cos i disagree with you & therfore by your logic your reply shouldn't even exist.

In an idealistic world it would be very nice to have comments without the bump on the New Products forum ONLY and not the entire forum in general. Everyone would like that, including myself since I'm from a different part of the world it might be a little hard to get a hold of me if there are comments and suggestions especially requests. But sadly this is not an ideal world. I'm not a coder/techie so I wouldn't know what it entails to have a message board that would have specific functions like these, but I haven't heard of any message board that can. So until that feature ever comes out, I'll settle for the 'No Comment' stay at is.
