Torley, you should meet Ted Wingnut or my Uncle Jack Flytrap. Uncle Jack lives in the Home for Aged Pirates in Grignano, and Ted, who never gets out of his pajamas these days, lives in a trailer. Ted is channeled by Edward Manray and is the step-father of noted author Emma Metropolitan (whose books are in Grignano Books). Uncle Jack, granted, has never materialised from the aether - but he COULD if he really wanted to.

Ted is a feisty little man.

I should! :D

What's the name of Salazar Jack's grandma's name? She's very nice.

Third Age Grid

Love this idea - lol, but how about a little 'Third Age' grid for those of us who are too old to remember what it was we were supposed to be shocked about in the first place?

Where are all the old folks's homes in Second Life? Lush retirement places where Avatars live out their Golden Years. And I have great difficulty finding elderly-appearing avatars too. I once went on a search for some wizened monks...

I volunteer my father from a parallel timeline, time-travel aside.

I've always thought an old folks/retirement home role playing sim would be a big hit. Put on your senior avis and play checkers and shuffleboard. Dance to old bebop. It would be a hoot.

The Geezer Grid should contain several staring windows and be wheelchair accessable. Also nap time. :)

Can I come to the geezer grid? I'm only 25, but I'm old and jaded mentally, and my av is approaching decrepit.

Here here! Or is it hear hear? Damnit! Nurse, I need my meds!

Greifers suck, I totally agree. Not all youth are greifers, some are very intelligent, witty, & well mannered young ladies and gentlmen, who actually appreciate the advice and guidance from the mature population in SL. Please I beg you to reconsider. Maybe start a new group and have gatherings once a month to talk about your grandkids or a new denture product on the market(of course not limited to these topics). The SL youth may not always show thier appreciation of you, but there will be a point in thier lives when they look back and say, "Oh damn they did warn me about that".

<quote>* "I have often thought what a melancholy world this would be without children and what an inhuman world without the aged."--Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

Sincerely,
KC

Has anyone here read Samuel Marchbank by Robertson Davies? He talks about "geezerkraft." I had to search my own blog because I couldn't remember the name of the book - it's very funny.
