1.10 has been the SMOOTHEST release ever! It's fucking AMAZING I was actually able to log on the very moment it launched and everything worked right! Generally, I tried to avoid new releases in the first four days or even until they made it to .1 since they used to release patches like once a week Congratulations to LL's QA team or whoever's responsible for them finally getting their shit together <3<3<3<3<3<3

I gather that some people have had problems, but for me 1.10, apart from the new features, has gone back to the speed of rezzing I saw with earlier versions. Now the world instantly, it seems, springs into life around me when I log in.
A great release, and a definite improvement on the one that went before.

I'd appreciate it if my prims didn't disappear while building, otherwise things seem to be working. I have noticed texture repeats take a bit to 'take' if you're manipulating them. That is all I've noticed so far, other than the bizarre disappearing prim thing. (Yes, even with object-to-object occlusion culling turned off in debug, it happens.) 1.10.1, anyone ?

For me 1,10 has been A TOTAL DISATER!! If you look at the tech forums you will see that it has been a disater for others as well.
I currently can not play the game because since yesterday's update the game crashes everythime I log in. I typically am in the game from anywhere between 5 seconds to a few minutes before the game crashes. There does not appear to be any single type of in-game action that triggers the crash.
I have the latest drivers for my hardware installed. I have an excellent top-of-the-line, high-speed cable connection that is working fine. I rarely crashed in the prior version of SL.
This all started for me yesterday: first in the morning on the preview server and then again in the afternoon on the regular servers after the update.
I have now submitted over 100 crash report logs! I have had four talks with tech support by phone and after each tried something new. I have tried EVERYTHING that I can think of to adjust. I have reinstalled all the latest drivers, turned down all performance options. turned off anti virus, anti-spyware, uninstalled/reinstalled, cleaned up my disk and registry, no local lighting, shortened draw distances. lowered detail, etc., etc Yet I still can't play. Prior to yesterday's update I rarely crashed.
This is exremely disturbing not only because I immensley enjoy the game, but also because I literally have thousands of US Dollars invested in in it.
This morning the problem has gotten worse for me as I am now crashing as soom as I log in. I am not even able to start to sell-off the thousands of dollars worth of land that I own in SL and which is now useless to me since I can no longer play.
I pay hundreds each month to LL for the right to play SL. A glance through these forums shows that many others are experiencing this issue. I find the absence of any recogniiton of a generic problem by LL to be the most distressing aspect of this situation.

Sadly, if you're on OSX 3.9, you're fresh out of luck for a couple of days. I can't wait to try it once they fix it! *sighs*

Gee, it sounds great Eggy. Sure wish I could get in and see it... But I'm locked out of the grid entirely!
All Mac OS X 10.3.9 users are locked out, and though LL has already figured out how to fix the problem at their end, they don't plan to release the updated Mac client till sometime later today, or maybe tomorrow... Whenever they get around to bothering with us poor "botom-feeders" with low-end systems...
*sigh*
If I could get back in, I could start earning money again, and start saving up for a newer computer. Because at this rate, it clearly won't be many more releases in the future before LL gives up on people at my end of the spectrum entirely.
I don't want a roll-back, but I sure as hell wish LL would hurry up and fix what they broke, the glitch that is keeping me and many other Mac users off the grid!

I agree with maxx completely, lighting looks so good at night that i can quit forcing the sun and enjoy the dark! But ive lost several shapes while building, and a few came back later? hmmm From: Maxx Monde I'd appreciate it if my prims didn't disappear while building, otherwise things seem to be working.

I didn't have many problems with this upgrade, AFTER I'd found someone that knew what they were doing to update my Laptop drivers, lol. The new lighting is fantastic and I have to agree that at least, I won't force daylight all the time, I will be happy to carry around a torch and shine my lights proudly!
I do however have one annoyance, Debug has lost whatever Ctrl-Alt-5 did, something to do with shadows I believe, it looked great for pictures, but alas it's gone and I don't know what the proper name for it was, all I know is I started SL and that was the first thing I did everytime lol. Some Lindens suggest it's gone because of the new lighting/shading, but if this is the case, please bring back that option for those of us that liked it!
Thanks!

Rezzing is still way too slow to suit me, but that's no change.
My "gray loading textures everywhere" does seem to imroved a good bit. Still not perfect, but better than the absolutely terrible it has been for mnay months.
When I turn water ripple on, the distant fog that exists even with a fog ration of 4 dissapears, revealing a sharp edge to the land. This didn't happen in the previous version.
Speedwise it is no slower, maybe a little faster.
There does not appear to have been widespread chaos and distress.
I think they did a good job this time.

LL is fixing the big problems. Namely the Mac 3.9 issue and the occlulation (umm..whatever ya spell that) issue. If you follow the announcments through all posts, you find the reason for a late Thrus or Fri fix is that they are doing the same thing with the fixes that they did with 1.9.1. Going a bit slow so they get it right (or at least more right than a "OMG!! Hurry! Do this this and this to fix it!! What to you mean that fix broke that that and these?!? Arrgggghhh!!!" The two main problems are being fixed along with a host of other minor ones, and I'm thinking the bug testers are on pure caffine by IV drip doing mega-testing. I completely understand the frustrations of those who can't get in. Esspecialy when everyone else is talking about how kewl it all is. I think if you sit back for a minute though, you'll see that a 1-2 day wait is a lot better than weeks and weeks of minor frustrations and further stress. My suggestion would be to either turn the puter off and go enjoy the day, dust off an old game laying around for a day or two, or maybe go through all the info on the wiki over the new toys. Everyone is in-world and playing with them and only understand half (if that) of what they can do (me included). A bit of reading might give you that "edge". Though aside from these two points, and some minor stuff which always happens on updates this big, I do agree...best update ever! Hope to see everyone in-world soon. We'll keep a light on for ya (*grins* Sorry. Couldn't resist.) ~Jessy

I was so fearful of problems I told myself I wasn't going to log in, but of course I couldn't restrain myself. I spent most of last night fooling around with flex prims and lighting, even did a couple of scripts trying to make some voice-controlled light sources for my house. I have to say I am VERY impressed with this effort. Good job, Lindens. But with every change, there are going to be some who are on the fringes and need special attention to recoup into the group: From: Hok Wakawaka For me 1,10 has been A TOTAL DISATER!! If you look at the tech forums you will see that it has been a disater for others as well. A few yes, but for most of us this was a blazing success. From: someone I have the latest drivers for my hardware installed. I have an excellent top-of-the-line, high-speed cable connection that is working fine. I rarely crashed in the prior version of SL. Hok, in my experience sometimes the latest drivers are not the best solution. I think it was Flipper who posted yesterday about how the newest NVIDIA drivers were causing problems -- did you try dropping back a version to see if that helped? I'm sorry you can't run SL, but just looking at your system config I can't think of a good reason why it won't work. Keep trying, please?

Occlussion Culling rocks, still a few oddities, but it's awesomeness.

Awesome release. I could not be happier. My frame rate has doubled (occlusion culling is incredible) and the new lighting is very exciting. The world was rezzing so quickly for me last night that we just went out and explored for the first time in a long time. Great job Linden Lab. Thank you very much!
P.S. I have had a few prim temporarily disappear on me ... I assume this has something to do with a problem in the occlusion culling code ... but it's pretty minor.

BEST THING EVER! I bloddy love this update.. the lighting is FANTF***INGTASTIC! the floppy prims will definitly make for builds to make you cream yourself.. and lag is definitly not as bad.. Im in contant nighttime at the minute checking out the lighting people have come up with!
WHAT I WANT: a touch script that turns lighted prims on and off ^^ kinda simple I would guess for you scripting guru's!
sucks for Mac users.. but doesnt it always?
