Reading profanity in a PG sim.......report....why? I thought this was an adult game with adults playing MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE! (what is the point of the pg sim anyway? I am not a profanity user nor am I a sexballaholic and I can wander the mature sims without having a heart attack and dying in the streets SO CAN YOU)

Yes this is judgemental and yes it is a little harsh and I expect that I will be attacked now. The thing is, it does not matter. I have gone after no one in particular in this little post, have named no names. If you are offended by this, then you either recognize that you are a whining baby or that you have no control over your reactions. Unfortunately, while in theory that sounds like a good idea, in practice it simply does not work.

Every single forum community which has lasted beyond a certain amount of time quickly comes to the conclusion that you have to moderate otherwise everything will spiral into constant flame wars and bitterness.

The key is to heavily moderate. I know, it sucks, but it's really the only way. Because once you piss someone off they start to stalk you on a constant basis and the stream of useless noise starts to reach a very high pitched fever.

As for in world, yes, that's a different issue but not so easily solved.

Looks like Morgaine was reported for hitting someone with a push object, verbally abusing someone, and using profanity in a PG sim.

To top it off, they came to the forum to whine about it.

Sometimes, a pain dealt out here is traumatizing not by itself, but because of what has come before. Like, the one Resi who kept saying "Why is everyone mocking me cruelly?" and it turns out, upon further conversation, peeps kept doin' laugh gestures around him... and this Resi had been laughed at like that as as a elementary schooler, or so he recounted to me.

I also came across a healthcare specialist who was sufficiently disturbed, asking "How many of these people in here have epilepsy?" It turned out, whelp, again, more gestures—these ones were spazzy ones with all manner of nutty av moment and sound—and he took it very seriously. He thought if someone's av was doing it, it reflected them having a real seizure, so I explained this was not necessarily the case.

I agree. Some people just like to hit that abuse report button a little too much. I too have noticed the lack of a sense of humor. There are times when an AR is needed but I never AR anything unless it's one of those darn security scripts that teleport you home or push you to kingdom come or someone bombing or causing people serious trouble.
