I kept calling everyone by their SL names. It seemed more natural to me. It didn't even occur to me to ask their real name. As for me, I'm like David, April is my real first name. So it was easy for me to be called April.
I did keep looking over people's heads expecting to find their names. If it wouldn't have been cumbersome, it would have been cool to make some sort of halo type thing with our names on it. LOL. BTW, I put up my pix on my website: http://aprilfirefly.com/SLCC_Pix/ They are in alphabetical order. I tried to get as many people as I could. Which is good because I didn't seem to show up in anyone else's pictures. LOL. _____________________

When I met Maxx, Zero and Fizik, I called them, well, Maxx, Zero and Fiz... It was SO much easier. But I did try and remember to call them their RL names, as they did with me
![]() As for my sis Willow Caldera, normally on our lil get togethers, I'm way to drunk to even talk!!!! So normally its just OI YOU HAHAHAAHAHHAHAHHAHAA *hic*, although when I met Zidane C, I did keep calling him Zid, to his amusement ![]() So yeah, normally its SL names rather than RL. _____________________

Looked at the pics - and aren't you a beautiful person, April! Inside and out!
And provided us the best photos yet. Well, best in that we could see who's who finally and for certain! Not in terms of lighting or glamour shots or anything, lol. And you look like you're kinda short, too! I like that in a person. And the DAWG! I've finally seen a real-life picture of the dawg! But - no - brain cannot compute. As opposed to absolutely everyone else pictured, brain cannot compute. That is not Travis. It just is not. Travis is a laconic white dog with a red collar. End of story. coco _____________________

It's weird for me, because I've gone by a different nick name for who knows how long. But I have met a few SLers before the SLCC - and all of them have called me Nexeus, it's like my second name now, I almost want to get a second birth certificate that says "Nexeus Fatale".

I also want to note in those pictures, I was wet, on 4 hours sleep for a week straight and on about my...4th or 5th gin and tonic.
Yes and I agree with Travis, April was one of my favorite people to meet there, such high energy and she LOVES SL. _____________________

Luckily I'm Jennyfur both in RL and SL. I tend to call people by the name in which I have been introduced to them. I mix SL/RL names when I know them. I think using the SL name thing also respects some level of privacy.

It was SL names...
10-21-2005 08:13
for me and those I met. And honestly it would have been odd to call them by their first life names not to mention, sheesh, keeping track of two sets of names lol.
In either life all were just wonderful to meet and spend time with. I really cannot wait till the next one happens. _____________________

Yah yah yah . . . excuses, excuses . . . coco I was having a horrible picture weekend as well. I keep looking like I have a snarl on my face, and since the lighting was tough, the flashes made me look like some kind of heroin junkie... and that look hasn't been in for a decade! ![]() Regards, -Flip _____________________

I'm just kidding. Having worked in magazines, and having been the subject of several magazine makeovers, let me tell you, they can make ANYBODY look good with the right lighting, make-up, etc., or make anybody look BAD without it. There's the real world, and then there's the world of photography and movies. Both have their own charms.
coco P.S. While I'm on the subject, I once came home from the first of these makeovers (one where I had worn my worst color and my hair slicked down on PURPOSE for the "before" picture), and just looked at my totally gorgeous self in the mirror. I looked for a long time. I couldn't believe what all they had done with me. (People had actually followed me with their eyes on the street on my way home, and that was pre-nose job!) Then after a long while of looking at myself more gorgeous than I had ever been or probably ever WOULD be, I smiled. It cracked the picture in a way; it really did. Then I laughed - because I understood then, for the first time, that the reality, the truth of a person, the smile of a person, was so very much more important than the magazine photo person. I loved myself, but I loved my REAL self, so much more than I did that gorgeous (for me, anyway) creature they had created. It was a lesson, and it's stood me in good stead ever since. _____________________
