Freeze as an option appeared a few updates back, handy tool that, gives you a chance to get your AR in, while the land ban takes effect.
The most important thing about how you both handled the griefer is that you sat down first. Don't see how someone would expect to actually "extract" L's from another avie w/out their compliance, you can't "roll" an unconscious avie for it's wallet, now can you? 
Some folks just need better hobbies, it appears. AAARghhhh!!!

OK I had never ever heard of this 'freeze' option before...how very kewl. *waits impatiently for someone to come mess w/ her on her land* It DOES have to be on my land for the 'freeze' to work correct? Otherwise can you imagine the trouble?

if someone needs it that bad then I guess they need it more than me and I think the entertainment value in being held at virtual gun point was more than worth it.
Look at the great forum feedback you got out of it and I am sure you and your girl laughed for a good 30 minutes for only 17 cents.
Sounds like a bargain to me and I bet not to many people at the next resturaunt you go to (where you will pay $50+ real dollars for your meal) will have ever been held at virtual gun point so you great story to tell as well.

You can only freeze people who are on land that you own. The freeze only lasts for 30 seconds, so you can't turn them into your own private lawn ornament. When you eject someone it does give you the option to automatically add them to the ban list. Which is much easier than doing it manually.
I used to freeze a friend of mine as a sort of warning when he started getting annoying (which with him was unfortunately fairly often). He always referred to it as “avatar rape” but it did make him behave.

I would like to know the guys name, but it's not important i guess. I can detect who is a griefer by the moment they come up. If someone comes up to me holding a gun and demanding cash i'l promply eject them with a ban to follow... Not a problem... Now is it's not on land i have access to these tools on, then i just sit down on my non phys vehicle and mute them, then AR them.
But i do think its amusing to freeze them. Sort of like dominating them. OH you think your a TOUGH guy HUH? Who's the criminal now!!! XD

The land ban tools in SL are practically useless, they only work for a distance of 20 meters above the ground, so someone can still hoover several meters above you, taunting, shooting and being annoying. However the freeze option sounds useful, I was not familiar with that, too bad its only good for for 30 seconds.

I belive you can also ban outside scripts (their gun script) and then put on your own gun and blast them.... Banning is just to easy.  |
