A friend invited me to a club last night..

But I told him I didn't want to go because of the lag.

"Whhhattt?"

Sometimes I even find myself shying away from high prim builds.

Clearly, been playing too much SL lately.

I was sitting in a meeting last night wondering why I couldn't zoom my view around the room.

All comedy aside - I find myself using SL hotkeys to try to do stuff while working in PhotoShop, Quark and Illustrator.

Lora - please, please, please - formulate that into a request right now and send it to Microsoft, Opera, Netscape, Firefox, etc etc etc. That would truly rock! (Tell them LL can tell them how to do it :D )

I went to an anime convention recently and SO wanted to posrate and negrate people's costumes, that I half expected the Profile GUI to pop up in field of view and give me the choice.

You start siding with the company and against the customers.

yesterday i found myself compressing all my negative feelings into a single prim.
Then i made it phantom and released it in a cloud of particles.

It felt better.

You know you have been in Second Life too much when you start thinking that virtual things are real, despite lacking everything that is essential to the real thing they are mockups of. Like virtual governments.

When I was heading to work this morning, I caught myself thinking of the local commuter rail station as the telehub. And I've also tried to Alt-Zoom on other webpages. :D

Sign I've been in too long:

...son argued about cleaning his room, so I threatened to delete his items and let them get lost in the asshat server.

...keep forgetting alt + mouse camera viewing and cursoring over the image to load faster *only* work here.

...wanted to neg rate my mom for her crappy taste in clothes.

...keep wishing the dirty dishes and laundry would be returned to inventory when the sandbox is cleared or just de-rez. <Double Pout on this one>

Some come into SL, hone in on one negative aspect or another (WA lag, immature griefers, cliquish society), pronounce it to be not worth their effort and depart. But for those who respond to the seduction of SL and enter excited with possibility, the challenges presented by its limitations are accepted. Or put on hold? Much like a new relationship, the bloom on the sl rose fades. One's reaction to the now apparent annoyances are varied. Do you to retreat into your own little patch of sl, minimize your time, take a break or even leave? Maybe you can hit refresh, regroup and and find a way to move forward to the next level of the relationship/experience.

yikes,

people complaining about weather

clothes being more important than nuke droppers

people with too little money vs those who have more than they know what to do with

yelling matches

mean liars.

*sigh.

well enough of that.. I want to log on to SL

(sure it exists in SL too, but I have a mute button there)

Been in any rl situations where you wish you could say "I need to relog" and then come back on at home?

When I go out, I always want to right click on people and read their profiles!

Wished I had a mute button in my car everytime someone drives up with their windows down and loud obnoxious music blaring so that everyone in a five block radius can hear them.

Start thinking about all the things my alt could be getting into while at work! ;)

While at my pc, try to project my view into the room beside me to see what my kids or coworkers are up to.

:D

The original post seemed to inquire which inworld behaviors are an indication that you've been in SecondLife too much.

Here's your mute button ;) And it lets you pin down vehicles like the Edit mode in SL, too !

*chuckles at Jesrad* I can toast their car audio system and them with one push of the button! I can just hear the news anchor now.... 'and in another incident in Austin, Texas yet another young man is victimized by the drive by nuke 'em road warrior. We need to caution viewers as the pictures we are about to show you are brutal.'

 :D
