Do you think the person who owns the most land in SL pays less than $195/sim/month?

Why does the poll itself say less than $200/sim/month?

Pretty subjective question since it leaves out a lot of unknowns. Group bonus being one of them.

"Group bonus being one of them" is not a full sentence.

It was a typo, I tried to clarify for the twits but you can't edit a poll.

"Who cares, because they're still paying an ungodly amount of money to LL regardless if they get a bulk discount or not" isn't an option.

Heh heh sigh.

There are so many reasons to care:

a) This means they can afford to sell land less than you can and make more money
b) They can bid more for an auction and sell it for less than someone who has to pay more tier
c) It underwrites their ability to go around buying up land and acting as a middleman
d) If the deal is unknown then other people won't realise that they can reach that 'tier' and get the same benefits

There are a lot of other reasons why it's critical that these kind of sweetheart deals are out in the open.

Having the group bonus makes it cheaper.

Better?

So ...

You must've been joking --- Right, Mr. Egregious Comma Splice? --- when you dissed Jeffrey for his sentence fragment.

Don't make me get all transformational grammar on your ass. :P

I was trying to show by example how pointless it is to get technical when the intent should be obvious.

"Eregious Comma Splice" .. I need to google that. I have some sort of mental addiction to the comma.

As long as the deal is also available to others willing to invest a similar amount of capital, what is the problem? Bulk discounts -- it's the way the purchasing resources always works.

Having the land group bonus will make it cheaper, on average, to own multiple mainland sims than it would to own the same number of sims without the grouped land bonus. This is just one of a possible many examples of how the price for owning sims can average less then the standard $195/sim/month.

It remains $195/sim no matter how high you go. You can use the 10% group discount if you'd like, as everyone else can. But the rate still remains the same.

That would be "Egregious Comma Splice" you'd be Googling, actually.

I find it intriguing that you are confident.. but I must admit, your opinion on the matter does reassure me somewhat, though not completely.

Gotta watch that.

The thought that someone might be getting a lower price than I would gnaws a hole through my soul, transforming me into a raging, pulsing throbbing mass of pure distilled class envy. It fuels a passion for violent revolution, a passion to seize the ill gotten gains from the wealthy monsters who deprive the masses of the digital land that is their virtual birthright.

Did that help you any blaze?

They probably do get a better price. It would make sense.

I don't get it, Enab, are you trying to point out that my original remark was silly?

If you are, well, I completely agree with you. Correcting someone on a technical point and ignoring the substance of what they said is completely silly.

I am a little puzzled at the prices these sims are bringing at wholesale when the market is so saturated. If everyone is paying the same $195 per sim/per month, then the wholesale cost of land is approaching $7 per sq m if you plan on it taking 2 months to turn the sim over. With the saturation of the market, I may be too optimistic at 2 months! What do you think?
