They just sent a global 2 minutes warning so noe no one will be inworld. I logged out. Any bets on how long it will be down? I'd say anywhere from 4 to 12 hours.

This crashed caused me to look away from the screen for a few minutes. In the big wall length screen mounted on my wall, I noticed a bright yellow object that I hadn't seen before. Anyone know what it is? And how do i delete it, because I'm sure something that bright might burn out the pixels on the screen if I leave it there too long.

Don't worry...just like the one in SL, it moves. Give it about 1/2 an hour... ![]() Space |

It is Wednesday after all. Almost seems obligatory to have the grid down.
I logged in as it crashed, wound up in a PG Welcome area, fortunately clothed appropriately, with many others. Shortly thereafter they brought down the whole grid. |

It can't be down! If it was down, there'd be an entry in the Official Linden Blog ... there isn't.

who do we complain to?

i have no problem with the fact that you guys have to do maintainence. i'm all for fixing bugs and problems so we can have the best experience possible.
my problem is warning time given!!!!! 2 minutes is not enough time to save something you might be working on or to find and tell someone to meet you elsewhere online. How about a longer warning next time??? at least 5 or 10 minutes to save work or whatever. PLEASE!!!!!! i was in the middle of something and didn't finish saving it and now it is lost forever. And before anyone jumps saying poor thing just start over again, i can't i was writing on a second life notecard. You can't just start over all the time on what you were writing it's lost, gone i can't redo or get it back. So please more warning next time!!! subkitty Luna |

Where's the blog post?
08-30-2006 19:30
OK,
I see a post in the Announcements thread: We're down and working on some asset issues. We'll let you know when there is more news. Sorry for the inconvenience. However, nothing in the Blog? What gives? I thought the blog was supposed to become the primary source for things like this since the forums are going away. Someone should remind Char...who does a great job but in the middle of the whirlwind that is probably LL right now might have forgotten. _____________________

Last time there was - this time I accidentally broke the roof on my house and was about to go fix it, maybe now no need. A bright side! On the other hand I'm insomniac at the moment - all hepped up and nowhere to go :/ |

Its usually longer.
Perhaps they found that the grid has 'a headache' and doesnt want to play with us right now _____________________

Yep pritty much, I got slightly edgy the last time SL didn't crash on a wednesday, whenever that was. |

I was in the middle of something as well. Then pop. "grid shutdown in 2 minutes." Suddenly my heart was racing to hurry up and get everything that i had laid down back into my inventory. >.< Drives me crazy. |

Grid crashes do not provide warning, you are lucky to get two minutes. Besides, the notecard never would have saved on the asset server anyway so more warning wouldn't have helped I'm sorry to say. Oh ya, btw, welcome to Second Life, enjoy! |
