I seriously don't get why people are here if they're "happy to see the forum go"

Well bandwidth certainly does - whatever forum ends up with the bulk of the forum traffic is going to require a lot of bandwidth to spare. To my knowledge, Second Citizen is on a shared hosting account, so not sure what its bandwidth limits are. I was just responding to an earlier post about sites being able to handle the traffic.

So I'm to beleive that the people running Second Life.. a 3d environment that relies on streaming technology.... doesn't have the bandwidth to run the forums?

I'm sorry Cris - but even YOU will have to call the big 'bullshit' on that.

No, that isn't what I'm saying, or what I was responding to. Whatever site gets the bulk of the forum traffic will need a lot of bandwidth, as this is a very active forum. That's all. LL's reasons for shutting these forums aren't technical in the slightest.

Cris was talking about another website called second citizen which is not run by second life who aren't as well off as second life either. If alot of people just knocked on their door, we don't know if second citizen could handle it because we don't know how much bandwidth they are allowed or how much storage in their database.
