It's recently come to my attension that LL may/will be closing a number of the forums here.

I need a vote from everyone that IF these forums do close whether you would be willing to move yourself to a forum in noway affiliated with LL, with no Lindens as admins and with all of the forums (and possibly more) that will be deleted here.

IF I decide there are sufficient votes here, I'll create the forum later on and announce it here for everyone to start posting at. It may take up to a week to get going with everyone visiting regular, but I need to know how many people would signup.

Simply reply to this post saying "I'll Join" or whatever. I'll count them later on and then decide

Any suggestions on the new forum would be appreciated. Just make sure you only say "I'll Join" once and it's in bold. I WILL read the rest of your post and any features/suggestions will be taken into consideration while creating the forum.

This is really peeving me... Why does it keep changing things like sc both in capitals to Sc?

I've never posted on any forums for SL except this one cuz i figured it was the only one that had a chance of being looked at by the lindens. During my time posting here i got to know quite a few people i would normally have never met in-world. I guess i'l have to start using the other forums now... Not that theres a point.. Theres nothing left for me anymore.

My biggest worry is if the other forum's servers can't handle the stress of a sudden influx of SL residents xD

Anyways, Cristiano Midnight's forums are pretty well done, and I do believe it already has a good chunck of the SL forums users signed up. I see it being one of the top refuge spots, anyways. But by all means, create your own hub, as it can only help.

For someone that has me on ignore, you sure do aknowledge me alot!

Anyways, alot of forums don't have that feature. At least not to my knowledge. You'll just have to pretend that not everyone is attacking you.

Well bandwidth certainly does - whatever forum ends up with the bulk of the forum traffic is going to require a lot of bandwidth to spare. To my knowledge, Second Citizen is on a shared hosting account, so not sure what its bandwidth limits are. I was just responding to an earlier post about sites being able to handle the traffic.

As a new user, don't be discouraged by the existence of other forums - if you feel you want to create forums, you should do so. I think what will end up happening is people will settle into a variety of forums that fit their particular tone and interests. While it is sad that potentially that means a fractured forum community, choice is always a good thing.
