What if the world was wiped? Hypothetical Question:

DISCLAIMER: First off I would like to say this thread is hypothetical and not created to cause distress on anyone.

------

I was thinking last night what if the incident last night caused so many problems that LL had to wipe the world entirely. To include all objects, scripts on land and everyone's inventory and L$.

Which brought me here to ask this intriguing question:
------

What would you do when you logged back on?

Build a pushgun, then put it for sale. :)

I would build a lawn chair and sit down and watch for a while.

Would you build differently? Would you try a different business? Would you run around mature sims naked screaming "the sky is falling!"

What would you do really?

I like the idea of this just because it would generate new creative ideas and bring about a totally different SL than what exists today, IMHO. I think SL, like the world, sometimes get stuck in a rut and it would be kind of cool to just wipe everything and start over.

People would disagree because of a lot of work people have put into things in the world and this could be done voluntarily on a smaller scale. Either way I still think it's a good idea to keep the world fresh and new.

I would stay with the same business, because I have fun doing it, which is what matters to me. I would definitely use the wipe as an opportunity to organize better and make better use of my resources. I'm planning to do it soon anyway, but it's such a huge job I keep putting it off. The wipe would be the kick in the pants I needed.

That would be quite disturbing for ANY realization of RL-value in SL.

Doing that would set back the idea of SL as a stable virtual space with stable commodity value so far that I doubt it would recover and ever be what I think LL wants it to be.

No RL business in their right mind would place RL-value in a space where it could be wiped so easily.

i would build an arm chair and sit next to jonquille and watch for a while, and maybe build a physics domino set to tumble onto her head when she wasn't looking :D

It's all in my head, so nothing will be lost. And a wipe would break continuity and force change and revision - which is almost always good.

So wipe away. I'm not afraid. :)

I would set about buying loads of L$'s cheap off lindex, using half to buy out a load of land around a telehub and then waiting and selling the rest on lindex when the economy got back up. I would use that space to just have some moving room, where people can't build at the speed knats reproduce. I would sell access to this area as well, as a place people can use thier mamoths and thier vechiles.

I'd go find something else to do an _consider_ coming back to SL when things had stabilized. What I wouldn't do is dump a lot of money back into it.

I also wouldn't be too stressed if it happened. For me, SL is entertainment.

I think I would probably cry at first. I have alot invested in SL and not to mention a zillion pair of HOT shoes *snickers* But after a good cry I would probably start rebuilding my "life" and thank god we didn't lose it all together.

I'm ashamed to say that I would do my best to recreate my house and my gallery, would work for about a fortnight, getting more and more frustrated, and then would probably give up and leave the game for a considerable period.

I'd recreate all of Cristiano's animations and make a killing in the hootchie dance market.

I'd give away furry avs for free in an attempt to skew the population percentages.

I'd copy Forseti's physical domino and put a self-replicating script in i....oh wait, no, I probably wouldn't do that.

Assuming that they gave us a stack of Lindens to start with (nobody would have any to sell), I'd upload the tree textures, recreate them all, box them into a single tree pack and sell it at a substantial discount so that everyone could replace their inventories.

Then I'd take the money and purchase land somewhere to rebuild Fate Gardens. I'm always rebuilding the gardens anyway so that would be no big deal. Honestly, I think it'd be quite exciting to start the whole process over again. I might even consider buying an estate if Boardman, Slate and Taber vanished from the face of The Grid All Hail The Central Grid.

I'd start a different AV and establish a religious cult.

hehe me and Sukky were talking scenarios about if civilization was wiped and there was no electricity etc and decided that we'd be laughing and making up vampyre stories regardless.

so if only SL was wiped I'd just start over, hell I already did once, killed off my old avi and started fresh, didn't take long for my inventory to be overloaded with crap so in answer to the question I'd say I'd look at a system wide crash as a chance to organise my inventory correctly from the beginning, I know what I'd buy again, the Pixel Dolls ballerina outfit, shoes from Hearts Desire and flowers and something cute to sit on my shoulder from Extravirtual, then I'd just re-upload my stuff.
