I was hoping to get some updates from anyone at the SLCC that have either voiced their concerns about how LL has been running things lately.
I'm sure the SLCC is a positive, friendly, party atmosphere.... but has any witnessed tempered flared? Or have there been arguments regarding legitimate problems (that all of us have been mentioning here in the forums) arise within the conference? Any during Linden speeches? Any quiet protests?
We all here at the forums want to know if anything specific issues were address... and lindens general take on the matter. Are they even aware of everything we bitch about on the forums?

Oh they will be aware there's problems... just look at the sim stats in the sim Abundance, part of the SLCC build. This was with 5 in the region... I can't even imagine how it'll be with 40 in. Lewis

Not a single texture loaded the whole time I was there, with just 2 other people in the sim. Time dialation is so low that it takes 10 seconds to take a step, and then you rubberband back.
Are all 4 sims on the same server or something? It's not that bad in my home sim though.

You'd have thought, anticipating the heavy load and the fact it's a "showcase" event, they'd have put one region per computer, using the highest specification machines available to them.
I reported it, and left Hermia Linden scratching her head trying to figure out what they could do - she was going to thwap a Gridmonkey I think.
They have..... an hour and a quarter to fix it I believe?
It's tempting to go there and just enjoy watching Lindens harrassed... but the central stage with its blood theme actually turns my stomach. What is it about big events and poor designs?

Patience on getting those updates - last night was a purely social event; the actual conference sessions don't start till today. (Heading over there in about 20 minutes myself...)

Assuming the video feed works, I will be hosting a relay at my theatre, it's in the Events Calendar. A great chance to discuss the happenings as we see them unfold.

I wish I'd been there for the 'sex' talk and won the goodie bag... what an opportunity that would have been to tell the guy who makes all those sex products exactly what I think of him, his product range, and the bad image it is tarnishing Second Life with.

The funny thing about you, though, Lewis, is that if you were to be confronted in a reality-based bar by someone with whom you have a disagreement, your chin would quiver in fright and you'd look at the floor, the exit and the ceiling before you actually acknowledged the beef. Big Man at the Keyboard, indeed.

I expressed Lewis' dissatisfaction with Stroker's products, directly to Stroker, while we smoked cigars and I was drinking stolen whiskey. He seemed very concerned and if I had to guess, he'll probably just quit SL all together. I'll ask him again when I see him today.
Doing my best, Lewis.

There was an outburst by someone at the SL Views meeting about the current problems and frustrations of sim stability and performance, with a tech Linden in attendance. Dunno if it got through.
the Lindens are really nice people. It's extremely hard to stomp up to them and act like a spoiled child when they're just really happy to meet you and talk to you about anything you want.

You know, I'm sure that fact wouldn't stop Lewis, Lordfly. Now, the personality trait to which I alluded earlier certainly would, but that's another kettle of beans entirely, isn't it.

The posts Enabran has made in this thread are, in fact, the only kind of posts he is capable of making. One has to feel somewhat sorry for a person like that. coco
