Just curious... is anyone's business being impacted (either negatively or positively) by 1.7?
It would be interesting to see what effects upgrades have on consumer activity.

Yes. Very negativly. 1.7 caused, for some unknown reason, the permissions on items sold in my store to be reset. Angry consumers abound and I'm trying to scramble to make right.

Oddly enough my sales are up since 1.7. By about 50% compared to the weeks before 1.7.

My business systems in-world are unable to connect to DreamHost. None of my sales are getting recorded and I can't work on anything that relies on my back-end.

I've noticed a negative impact on sales from 1.7, as well.
Hopefully, sales will rebound as the updates are rolled out and we near the holiday season. |

Very neg of course thats only half my problem the other half is 1.7 ruined my sim so for me 1.7 blows chuncks would give anything to go back to 1.6. I do know this i wont keep paying 125 usd a month for this kind of performance

My sales are about the same, or a little better. (But who knows, maybe they would have been LOTS better by this time, were it not for the 1.7 problems.)
But my small amount of purchasing (of textures) has become MUCH harder. I've pretty much put that pleasure on the back burner for now. coco _____________________

I can imagine it is affecting business. I haven't been outside my home sim since the update coz everywhere else, it's lagged as all hell.

No effect - if any - slightly better than normal.

I'm breaking records every few days in the land business. Lots of large cheap land sales have happend, and land that sticks is all very high. Business is very good.

1.7 has affected my business both positively, and negatively.
Positive: - The new HUD feature has allowed me to make newer, and hopefully more compelling content. Negative: - The nerfing of object-to-object llGiveInventory broke the Flamebringer, which has a self-reproducing flame effect. (Fixed now) - The mailserver went down, and completely broke ROAM until today. - Poor sim performance totally turned Chartreuse into mollasses, making for very unpleasant to shop there. (Hopefully fixed now) - The new scheduler has made scripts that are very timing sensitive to behave less predictably. _____________________

Definitely negatively. I, like Hun, use Dreamhost. And we have lost all IP connectivity to SL for over 2 weeks now (still down). I have a whole product line down due to this. Plus all the lag has caused me to shut down one entire business location because the sim was in constant dilation.

Sales are definitely a lot slower for me, there's no getting round that. It's also not helped by slexchange.com having lots of issues either with the delivery of items and general lack of stability on their site (it seems to be down an awful lot). I guess the delivery problems, which have only started since 1.7, are because of things not working correctly at LL's end.

Negativly here, for sure.
Both the Dance-Foo and CrystalDance now give errors on startup, since they try to reset scripts on_rez - but for some reason, llResetOtherScript fails while the object's inventory list is loading even though llGetInventoryNumber and Name still seem to work properly. The flood of error messages isnt exactly what you'd expect from a product, and i'm allready supposed to get a patch going to handle this. Other then that, afew carefully timed effects got screwed up and I had to work around them. |

jeez where do I even start? It has been hell. Not for the affect it has had on how many new people decide to rent in my sims, but for the amount of time it is taking to deal with the current residents due to problems etc. These extra problems are compounded by the fact everything takes twice as long to do anything due to poor performance.
