Right, so... this blog seems to have announced the BBC Radio 1 music festival will be broadcast live in-world and in the real world.
But uh, where's it being held at? I can't find it in-world anywhere.

Right, so... this blog seems to have announced the BBC Radio 1 music festival will be broadcast live in-world and in the real world. But uh, where's it being held at? I can't find it in-world anywhere. "If you're in there, say hi! Just load up SL, search for Radio 1, and head over - but not now, because it opens tomorrow morning, GMT. Or IM me, and I'll teleport you there: Crystaltips Pavlova." I'm really really really psyched for Primal Scream; I hope they get streamed even though they're on the second stage. _____________________

Strange, I can't find anything about the Second Life part of this on the BBC site for the event:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend06/ You'd think they'd mention it! _____________________

GMT, like he said. Though he probably means BST which is GMT+1 I suppose I could figure that out. I suppose I could also go to sleep right now. _____________________

I reckon there's no way they'll have the capacity to deal with the demand..
The radios are cool though - is this the BBC providing an MP3/ogg stream - or the introduction of real audio support in SL? (Radio 1 is currently streamed in real audio) _____________________

Congratulations to whoever's promoting this, you've created an advertising campaign more cryptic and frustrating than any ARG imagined. I can't find your sims, the SLURL maps don't bring them up, and the various articles completely fail to tell me where I should go (or, rather, they snobbishly suggest where I should take myself).
Whoever's running this show must be taking lessons from the comic book industry. EDIT: For future reference, "all weekend" on the Internet does not mean "starting sometime Saturday." Incredible. _____________________

I agree it would have been very helpful to have had the 2pm till late information publicly available (EDIT) although this still doesn't tell us when it opens. Looks like they may be playing favourites, if some residents got invitations and others had to delve deep to get the information. Cali _____________________

Looks like they may be playing favourites, if some residents got invitations and others had to delve deep to get the information. Cali Judging from Fizik's comments on another thead, this is a pilot for the BBC sims and wasn't supposed to be covered in the press, but it got leaked. I guess that's why I couldn't find it on the event web site at the BBC. Looks like the BBC have now run an article on it - now the horse has bolted. But it's kind of like the way we had a pilot test of Numbakulla, with an invited list of guests, before we launched it publically. We played favourites with that invite list ![]() And no, I haven't got an invite to this before anybody asks ![]() _____________________

I am looking forward to seeing what else the BBC/Radio 1 do with these islands going forward though, I think it's a great boon to SL to have a corporation like the BBC, with a global reach, actively using the platform. _____________________

Starts 5am SLT according to Tesla Linden's message to the Mentor channel.
Glad to have been able to put you out of your misery...EDIT: Like to know WHY accurate information wasn't available - and why Mentors have to field enquiries about this rather than being able to point to official information, too. Cali _____________________
