Things do seem to be running very well now. I was getting ~60 client fps in Indigo, and about 22 in the Welcome Area!

This was the first thing I noticed as well when I logged in this afternoon. My client FPS has gone as high as 80 on a private island and 20's in the WA. I haven't tried to turn back on Local Lighting yet but if it improves that from DEAD which I used to be at post 1.7 to anything remotely moveable that would be nice.

Wow, you people give thanks and congrats for them suddenly getting it right after two weeks of near total fuck-ups? I'm so not on the same page as you guys. You give them so much more slack than I find acceptable. *shrugs shoulders*

And I guess that's why they'll always sit on a TOS that provides all the support of a game, whilst pretending it's so, so much more. They don't need to give anything else, because you're all so happy happy joy joy that it's finally right again?!?!?!

Woopeedooo. Should of been this way with 1.7.0. If they had good QA, a representative testing method and a coherent development plan then it would be.

Honestly? I didnt have any crap over the past 2 weeks, SL for me has ran fine...

I always get 15 FPS everywhere, so it's all good I mean, that's my normal.

Ah, there's the difference. I care about the overall performance for the majority, not the individual. The "I'm all right Jack" mentality is something I've always tired to avoid.

In which case, if it's been fine for you, why the need to praise them? You said it's the first update than ran smoothly? But also SL has run fine for you? Huh?

I don't get it. If you haven't had troubles, what are you so excited about?

If you are so unhappy with the service LL provides, maybe you should rethink why you are here at all... I mean you seem very angry and unhappy, alot of animosity...maybe the best thing to do is walk away from a "game" that makes you so miserable...

Yes, performance is worse than before 1.7 and I've had the Mac attack crash going on which hopefully will be fixed. I just didn't go fucking nuts and post about it. Nor did I cry for a roll back. I have been frustratingly inconvenienced. That I've waited patiently and quietly will be have to do. I won't be shouting out the love if it finally works.

Or maybe stick around and try to get a better service? If everybody that was unhappy with the "game" walked away, there'd be nobody left for you to sell your stuff to. Maybe I think SL deserves better than the shoddy development and QA that's going on currently. Maybe that's why I stay. And maybe that's why I also complain. You can stay and pay and still complain, there's no law against that.

Personally, the best thing that could happen to SL is some serious competition. That would sharped the QA brain a little. They're complacent, and sycophantic "well done" threads, when they've just finally managed to do their job properly after 2 weeks of fumlbing in the dark, just lead them further down that path to utter crapness.

Unhappy is one thing... but you seem down right miserable... I have never played a game that never had troubles with updates and never had bugs... Have you? Why is it any different with LL?

Moopf makes really cool skates. I wear them practically all the time.

A friend of mine who makes the coolest most fun stuff I own has had terrible issues. His items utilize physics which apparently is borked. Today's d-day for him; if he's not better he'll release his land to avoid tier. He has not shouted about it either, just will quietly withdraw.

What do you make Sensual? I'll be looking for some cool, fun stuff if these guys leave.

Rain on somebody's parade? Let a competitor come in, then you'll see soembody raining on their parade. Bugs are one thing, and my SL is certainly still full of those. Bugs I can understand, to a certain degree (as long as they're addressed and resolved).

The last 2 weeks has seen a huge percentage of the SL community frustrated with the piss poor performance and lack of resolution. 2 weeks! Even a Linden posted an announcment that included a fact that 30% of logins end in a crash. 30%. And that's not because of 1.7 - that's the level it was running at before 1.7

30% That's pathetic. Their only competition currently is their consumer - if we don't make them pull their socks up, when real competition comes, SL will be dead quicker than you can turn an animation.

I am really sorry to hear they are having troubles, but I think it is unfair for people like Moopf to hammer down on those of us that are enjoying our Sl and not having troubles...
Hopefully things will be fixed so your friends can continue to enjoy thier SL. but if they are as miserable as Moopf sounds, then they may want to look for another path... SL is supposed to be fun, and I know if I continously had problems I would be looking for something else to do with my time..

THINK OF OTHER PEOPLE FOR A CHANGE, WHY DON'T YOU. AND ALSO THINK ABOUT THE PLATFORM THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO WHAT YOU DO. PRAISE IT WHEN IT'S GOOD, DON'T PRAISE IT WHEN THEY'VE DROPPED THE BALL AND ARE JUST MAKING THINGS RIGHT AGAIN AFTER 2 WEEKS.

ACTUALLY, THINK OF YOUR CUSTOMERS. THEY'LL BE THE ONES HAVING PROBLEMS, YOU CAN BET YOUR LIFE ON IT.

(and if you don't understand the principle that, as a merchant, you need to think about the consumer, then all hope is lost)

You know, Sensual, I'm sorry that you see this as raining on your parade, but if you haven't had troubles, your attitude is really rude and insulting to all the other people who are seriously having issues. Upgrade your computer? It's like you're laughing and saying sucks to be you.

I just said I was sympathetic to your friends that are having trouble... I at the same time can say you are being really rude for hounding me becuase I am enjoying SL?
