Ew, I hate it. It's far more distracting than the old one...play around with it and come back and tell me how much you hate it too! *misses the old one*

I don't mind that at all.

I guess everything that depends upon an invisiprim is broken now, huh?

that's pretty darn ugly - but at least you won't be getting hung up on some mall ceiling by a telehub

Seriously? That's great news! I was really worried about that when I read the release notes last night.

Wouldn't including a default transparent texture with the game download minimize the lag caused by downloading it each time you encounter an unrezzed item???

I think it's ugly (the new texture - not the shoes, although they do look well painful!). The old one made everything look like it was condensing out of mist - I liked that. :(

well, it may take some time to get used to. What really roasts my polygons is the fact that alpha textures now go completely opage when you hit ctrl alt t.

I just feel like the old cloudy texture was more subtle and less jarring. Though it'll be nice not to bang into walls when the wont load.

And now a lovely picture of the sky and my store.

It has a bit of a Star Trek Holodeck look to it. If it helps to keep folks from running into unrezzed walls, I'm all for it.

That sky looks like something that may be in a Mac or HP commercial ROFL

I feel the same as Salazar... or even the movie TRON, from which the term "rez" is derived.

Or Tron.

It does look like you're living in a virtual world now. :)

Hmm, I haven't seen it inworld but from the pics it looks like we took an aesthetic hit for a usability gain.

Ahh, yes, you're right. I was wondering why it seemed vaguely familiar.

I dunno, personally I like that you can now see the geometry of a build before its textures load. Much, much easier to get through otherwise-cloudy, lagged builds.

One thing this may prevent is being able to see inside buildings and such? That way people are forced to see the outside first... which is how it should be.

Just a thought...

Yeah, I noticed I wasn't the only one who thought Tron.

I've got a little Tron on the brain since seeing the character designs for the new Kingdom Hearts game, which includes Tron and Sark, as well as Tron-styled Goofy and Donald.
