If they leave it for Monday, then I will be liquidating my SL assets and dropping this account to Basic.
And even that might not satisify me; I'm not sure if Pathfinder's half-baked answer to my question about how to remove billing info from an account instills much confidence in not losing my CC info in the future when they get hacked again. _____________________

Forums going away soon, so we cannot talk to each other - check The 'new, improved communication' blog has comments off for this issue - check. They are already stonewalling the answers posts with 'check the blog and post there' -check. Perfect setup for blowing it off till monday. Perhaps folks might consider contacting the magazines and news outlets that gave SL such GLOWING press coverage and let them know of this debacle and how its being hidden and PR spun as fast as the lindens can act? A little public embarassment might work wonders for poking holes in King Phillip (who hasn't posted yet that I have seen) and Pathfinder's (who blows off all legitimate questiosn with 'check the blog') corporate egos? |

The "Tao of Linden" dictates that employees can work on projects of their chosing. This is NOT gonna be a fun project, so the takers for it will be small, if any.
Right now, I'm dying to see if they can burn the Tao and actually pull it off before then, or live up to the Tao and make a lot of customers really, really ticked. *shrugs* If they don't, Monday will come... and I won't be feeling the least bit sorry for them. I mean, come on, get someone addicted to it and then make them go cold turkey is cruel! _____________________

I don't think LL knows what its doing.... Waiting 2 whole days and not telling us and not telliing us to change the pass word ourselves... Thats totally wrong I've heard this mentioned repeatedly. Not that I doubt it, but how or why do we know that they have known about this for 2 days? _____________________

I've heard this mentioned repeatedly. Not that I doubt it, but how or why do we know that they have known about this for 2 days? It's posted in the blog as having been discovered on the 6th and that they had been investigating it these last two days. Why didn't they at least put out a general change password warning, as they did with the rest of the hacks that happened? It certainly would have been less disrupting and cost them a lot less financially than what they did do. And even though it was important enough for them to DO it, it's not important enough for them to have the support ready for the flood? _____________________

If I had to guess I'd say Monday would be way too quick for them to respond. I'm guessing more like a week from Monday. Even if they do open up the phone lines on Monday to handle password issues, good luck getting through. The lines will be clogged for quite some time dealing with the fall out from this huge snafu.
