So although even if at 129999 posts and 453 days old, your 130000 and 454 day, will always come with that 'Pfffft your opinion is not valid.. I still know what I know with what ive learned. I don't really understand what could possibly be different with my opinion.. Its going to be the same thing in loop... Regardless how long I do/did it. |

Actually you are missing my point - Somhow in the same thread i am guilty of being Mean to the original Poster - Join date May 2006 (first forum post 5/05 or 06) for assuming he should have more Savvy then he appherently is, AND at the same time guilty of telling you you cant be as Savvy as you are. Id like to aditionally point out either one of you could be an alt - theres no way to know. I was contrasting you to the OP - since youve been an escort and already decided is time to retire and become a madam. While he seems confused theres so many escorts and wonders if there is a demand. I think Many people who start in SL look for the night life right away and thus are at least exposed to the Escort Biz early on. Many people stop going to clubs as their circle of friends grow so large they dont have the time - or they develop other interests. Again i guess what i did was fire a pre-emptive strike becuase i didnt want yet another thread of Escort Bashing. And its related Anti cyber sex bashing. Since its played out so often. |

OK fine, I'll admit it.... I find sex in SL comical... I can't help it I just laugh at it. I have no problem with anyone who takes it seriously, I just can't. So if I were to hire an Escort for whatever strange fancy I may have, I'd prolly make them dance with me: On that note, I'm a dancer at an awesome club and I like to do it because I enjoy watching the cute lil avvies dance (especially to some of those slow dances where the male gropes some booty *wink*) I guess I'd compare Escorts to Hire-A-Date, if you don't currently have a lovely female or sexy male to take to an event, hire an Escort!  |

Maybe it's just me, but I press Alt key alot, and this sometimes highlights transparencies. I can't believe the amount of people who wear their xcite parts in broad daylight.
This is hilarious when you do it in some PG place like WA and see all sorts of people with spheres and cylinders stragically placed at or around their vlunerable points of entry or exists...
I guess people are just too lazy to remove them... no wonder this is being exploited and people made to go into sparodic muscle movement through wonders of the lsl scripting system.

LOL! Don't get me wrong, I have all those parts and stuff and i normally have them on.... Cuz its entertaining. Think about it this way: You wear your Xcite parts into a PG room, and you go about doing whatever you were there to do when you get a little green text whisper at the bottom of your screen saying 'so and so has just touched your 'whatever'
I find that funny because, especially if you're moving, sometimes you have to click multiple times just to hit those spots....
Anyone else find that funny?

There is no reason to take them off, for noone-self included, can touch your parts.
You will get spammed by the requests once re-entering a mature though.

You must purchase a good skin and have a great wardrobe (including roleplay outfits) and you have to fend off past customers who think they're entitled for return freebies. And after all that, until you've worked hard at building your clientele for a couple of months you're going to be looking at some weeks with no customers, some with 2 or 3, and always with 10-20% of your earnings going to your club. Good luck thinking you can freelance right off the bat - without that client base, and with most clubs not wanting you to work against their own escorts, you'll need a wealth of patience and perseverance.
It's not a glamorous life as some would believe and the demand in SL may be there but it's also being more-than-generously met by the supply (ask your local escort club how hard it is to find new girls). If you don't stand above the crowd, you're better off playing Tringo for money. When I go to a club and find 2 escorts for every customer, I definitely get the sense that there is more supply than demand. A lot of these clubs have strict terms of employment, requiring you to work exclusively for them, but they don't seem to offer a very good deal in return. Sure, they may have a high-traffic venue, but you're also competing with the club's other dancer's and escorts, and the customers they bring in are not necessarily interested in sex at all. I've had a lot of luck freelancing. The trick seems to be to make people want to have sex with you in particular, and part of that is finding a good niche to cater to. I don't claim to speak with any great authority here, but the clubs seem like kind of a rip off to me. |

My impression is that like most jobs in SL, they're not in it solely for the money. I assume they actually enjoy hanging out in the club and chatting with each other and the customers that wander in.
