BEWARE OF AN AVITAR BY THE NAME OF Ruth Default

I want to tell you all about an avitar by the name of Ruth Default. This avitar entered my residence in SL armed with a submachine gun. At the time, I was not logged in, but my girlfriend was. First he asked for money.....50 lindens to be exact. Asking for money with a gun is not really asking. When she refused and asked him to leave, he demanded that she give him 50 Lindens. She asked him to leave again and he went into some rant about nobody likes him and he's going to kill himself....etc. She sat down to prevent his weapon from doing any damage to her and armed herself with her watermelon gun...lol. When he gave her 5 seconds to give him money or he would shoot, she shot first. He had a very good shield and the watermelon gun had no effect.

I was watching the entire thing and told her to log out....so that I could log in and take care of the bad boy. When I got in game, he was still there. I promptly sat down and demanded that he leave while at the same time getting his profile info so that I could ban him. By the time I got him entered into the property ban list, he unloaded his entire weapon on me. Then the ban kicked in and he was banned.

I can't believe that someone would use SL to become a criminal....but I suspect that he either has criminal tendencies in RL or he is just a sad immature person. I wanted to warn you all of this person because he was quite impossible to reason with.

Good luck,

Reminds me of this time in TSO I was at Mr. Bo Jangles' pizza lot in JP, and this robber came in demanding all our money. And TSO didn't even have guns!

So I acted all scared and stuff and gave him $20. "Is that all your money?" "Yes! I'm poor!" lol

Hehe...this guy came up into my skybox and demanded $50 a while back.

I kinda knew it was a big joke, since he had all this badass armor and weapons and was only wanting $50.

So I was drawing the whole thing out, trying to talk with him. He caged me, and I just phantomed and slipped through the floor, came up behind him, and busted his shields with a weapon I was working on at the time.

He flew back from a sim or two away, and we had a good laugh about it. I took it all to be roleplay, really, but I could see how it would upset some people.

I could give a crap about TOS in this instance........if this guy came into my house in RL, I'd be cleaning the residuals off the carpet.

Besides....I'm sure that his real name isn't tubbywubby......unless his parents are as stupid as he is.

Well..a few points:

First, never shoot first. Sit down and IM a Linden, and fill out an abuse report of you are shot.

Second, if you are on land you own, freeze, eject and ban the person.

Third, copy and paste the conversation into the abuse report.

The best way to handle any griefer is to let them hang themselves. I sit down calmly and am relatively polite with them at first. Then, if they haven't done anything overly bad, I give fair warning. If it continues, I abuse report, and IM a Linden to remove them if needed.

If the person is just being an idiot, but isn't really disrupting an event or shooting anyone, sometimes your only option, if you don't own the land, is to simply go somewhere else. They will tire of standing there by themselves very quickly.

If someone like this does enter your home, there are Linden Tools that allow you to eject and freeze the Varment.

I bet that forcefield of his would not stop the Linden Eject hehe

The unfortunate girlfriend must not have been using those new depleted primium/self forging/high velocity/armor piercing/high explosive/thermobaric warhead/volumedetect rounds. Sad. So the arms race goes.
