The FIC was a term coined by Prok to describe a Mythical group of people who seem to have All the advantages, and None of the Drawbacks of Life in SL. Sort of the On Line version of the Freemasons or other Secret societies. Mostly it was an expression of some peoples Paranoid belief that there is something going on around them and they are, for some sinister purpose, being kept out of the Loop. You will see some people about with an FIC group in their Profile. That started when some people who enjoyed tormenting Prok in the Forums Decided to Make the group for a Laugh. But, some people are comfortable thinking that there is some Grand conspiracy watching their every move and profiting from their every misfortune. It's Easier to get their head around than "Sh*t Happens", so it's grown into a Forums Tradition. Frankly, it makes me Laugh. No, like offering coverage, jobs, and other things to people that haven't been announced to all, or put out for bid, or limited to those on the Developer Directory list, all of which would be acceptable.
I might add that my definition of FIC also includes anyone who enjoys the special ear of the Lindens. In that, their influence is disproportional. Only when Lindens can guarantee that none of this privileged treatment occurs can they safely ridicule the concept. coco _____________________
