Do you really feel like shit because you didn't make it onto the website? I'm always puzzled by this reaction. I've never made it to the website and I've never felt like shit about it. Should I?

Hi Surreal! You know, you could keep the items rare by releasing an altered version. You could like change the color scheme or something. As long as I get the word it's coming out so I can rob people....er save my lindens....

I'm not FIC, I don't squeal over Lindens - it was just by luck. I didn't even know exactly what I was posing for.

Don't really understand why it's such a big deal, to be honest. But if it helps, now I wish I wasn't there.

Yeah I didn't know exactly how in demand it was, people still bitch me out for making it such a low run on the suit

I have seen some of the suits get auctioned for 30k + since too, so this is gonna be one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't

What I might do is make this new run no transfer and let it run for a set amount of time instead of a set number of suits... This shouldn't interfere with the value of the transferrable suits and down the road ppl who bought a transferrable suit can recoup that investment if they get a no trans suit durring this run....

also we have this great build in Chaos, I think it would be fun to make it available for a weekend or maybe a week and hide the boxes in a few places within the sim do something mean like adjust box prices according to how tough it might be to find =P

I'll contact the ppl that bought suits already and let them know, fortunately with such a small run I managed to keep a complete list.

so you can pick up a no transfer suit durring this release (if it runs, Im still waiting on some feedback) and hopefully resell your transferable version down the road to regain some of what you spent on it. I never thought it would be such a hit to be honest, Im stunned and flattered!

I recommend growing a thick skin because you're going to have to listen to a LOT of whining and crying until the next time the website gets updated. Ohnoes! Unfair! Boo hoo hoo!

Yes. So much so that I now spend all my time in battlefield 2. If only I could sort out a way to improve the testures on the buildings. And to actually kill someone with a sniper rifle instaed of just using an anti-tank missle. But thats another problem..

You should try the farcry engine! It's my SL substitute these days, cuz you can terraform your own islands, decorate how you please (including importing your own models and textures. yes. even physical ones. with bones.), it has a powerful scripting language but doesn't require you to get particularly deep into it (all sorts of defaults exist that are literally drop down selections), create your own games or missions or whatever and play it multiplayer. Like an exclusive sim, really (only can be way bigger and a ton more prims (my current island has over a million plants!). And you don't have to build the guns first!

I understand your point though and I am being a bit hypocritical to say that since I made fun of someone earlier this month for saying that other people celebrating their holidays (Christmas) "hurt her." I apologise for that (the language here, not the earlier ridicule).

I am getting a little down about all this FIC crap lately though.

I have been one of the people that, in the past, had ridiculed the idea of the "inner circle" or of Linden favorites in general, but after 9 months or so of being here, of contributing ideas and goods, and of spending my time volunteering to help both in the creation of SL and in the tutoring of new people it gets a bit depressing to be always on the "outside."

There really is a "cool clique" of people both on the forums and in the game and I am not one of them. Perhaps I am overlaying my high school experience on things and perhaps I am mistaken, but I believe I am a very smart and perceptive person and that's the way it looks to me.

I am also very concerned lately over the Lindens seeming lack of any kind of ethical policy guidelines on player/linden interaction. Things that were entirely appropriate when this place was a small collection of people that all knew each other are simply not appropriate now.

It saddens me that I missed the days when I could have known all the inside cool people and perhaps been one of them but those days are over. Most of us playing the game now will live out our lives here without ever being so "cool." Most of us will live on islands and only meet the mythical lindens once or twice in our lives.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

One of the things that really makes me ill in general is sycophantic behaviour both in RL and SL. The giggly prostration's that some folks put themselves through when a Linden shows up is degrading and ugly from my point of view and I have more self respect than to engage in such behaviour myself. Having had a share of fame in RL myself, I know from experience that if you are in that position, you really want to be treated like a regular person, and *not* like a "movie star" so I am sure the Lindens dont appreciate it either.

I think it's high time that the Lindens started acting a bit more like professional workers and a bit less like everyones (or just *some* people's), best buddies.

I would also like to point out that the fact that I ended up following on Willows post does not in any way mean that I think she is like that. I realised my mistake in not pointing that out too late.

Apolgies for that and for the loaded language, but there is a real problem with favoritism in the game from my point of view.

I don't know what IRC is, I've talked to a linden once when I won a plot in Luna and was such a noob I didn't know how to claim it, and my only brush with FIC is calling Cristiano at home because I was home alone one Halloween night and some punks were banging on my door (not that he lives anywhere near, so don't ask).

That said, Bub has asked me to pose twice. Once alone (no balls were involved and nobody took their clothes off) and once in a group. It's the only two times I've talked to him. Which reminds me, I never saw the flying picture on the website so I guess they used somebody else's and I totally missed the group one

I pay so little attention to some things that I can't remember how it came about, except for a group IM and me volunteering for it.

So, unless Cristiano is the almighty FIC leader supreme and / or Bub has a secret crush on me (call me!), I don't see what's wrong with the way things are done.

There really is no fair way to do it, as posting in forums and waiting for people to reply will stall his work and only a small percentage of SLers actually read the forums. People will always be upset, no matter what.

I think that's a common perception. But I know some of the "cool kids" you're probably alluding to and for the most part when they're in world, they're not shmoozing. They're just busy doing their own thing in their own little corners of SL, just like you, away from the Lindens, and away from other cool kids.

I would check out the community roundtables that happen every month, i think the first wed. of every month if I'm not mistaken. They are hosted by Lindens. You might feel more involved if you did.
