PG or Mature?

Personally I don't really care. I think there should be both PG and Mature sims, I tend to live in Mature sims for some of the reasons already stated. I don't think I hang out much in PG areas though...I tend to spend my time with actual adults!

I totally agree with everything you've said and get annoyed when ALL I hear is trash coming out of some people's mouths. It is the maturity of the people involved, not the rating of the Sim. Hell I like to 'cut up' once in awhile too.





But let me say, I am a fairly regular gamer...Pizza, Tringo, Bingo, Boogie, Quintzee, Blood 21 and I have rarely encountered the kind of behavior you did, so please don't judge all us hardcore gamers by the poor manners of a few.

Oh subtle, from one post you have elicted a cogent and comprehensive determination of my ability to communicate intellingently? It is precisely that sort of obnoxioulsy arrogant value judgement, based on a paucity of actual experience that I find so offensive about your original post. As far as manners go, the offense is not always in the speaker, but sometimes in the interpretation of of the words. For example the expression "I think you are a pedantic, self important, arrogant human being who chooses to make unfounded value judgements based on standards that are unrelated to society at large, and devoid of the intellectual acumen to appreaciate even the simplest fallacy of your own broad-over generalizations-not to mention the inherent arrognace in holding others to your own standards of conduct irrespective of thier personal or cultural norms" is more offensive than simply saying "f**K off" but the latter is far more succinct and artful.

I would postulate that the above reference conduct could have been accoplished without ever saying "f**K." Infact the overwhelming amount of griefing can be conducted with equal ability on either PG or M sims. The maturity, intelligence and sophistication of an individual is not defined by the language used, but by actions. What pisses me off is the little miss manners platitude that "using bad words is a mark of someone who has nothing to say" or some such variation.

I go around without clothes as often as possible, letting it all hang out so to speak. But then again what's the point of clothes when you have fur to protect you from the elements? I support maturity, and as such support mature sims. I believe I have the right to walk about nude, but I'm willing to cover up should company be uncomfortable with what they see. It's immature displays (such as excessive swearing, or public masturbation) that give mature sims a bad name.

With few exceptions, I stay out of PG sims. When I owned land in a PG sim, I had someone actually tell me to stop building for a few minutes so they could wander around and make sure I wasn't hiding anything non-PG, and got very upset when I told them where to head in. Ditched the land a *very* short while later. Even just wandering around PG sims, if it's not a store or a club or something (say, for instance, I'm just exploring) I've lost count of the number of times someone has stopped me and rattled off the 'this is a pg sim you can't swear or do anything dirty I'VE GOT MY EYE ON YOU' line of nonsense, and to hell with that.

I dunno. If a big part of your life is spent hassling other people for living theirs the way they want to, there might be something wrong.

I've never had that problem, but I confess the two places I've had PG land, one was a sim where my group owned a plurality of the land (so, like, the only people to complain... was us!) and the other was a small swatch in a sim that a custom home builder used as his display case.

Oh, and my little plot in Brown, of course.

Religious implications aside, that's kind of the main reason I don't like PG areas. I can understand if someone asks me to wear clothes, it's an entirely different thing when I'm ejected and/or banned for it without a warning.

Regardless of your preference, one thing has been made certain by this thread. The varied, and often heated, opposing opinions of this thread show the genius in LL having implemented both PG and Mature sims.

Mature, can act how i want, when i want, no problems unless i blow sumthin up. plus u'd get sound griefers in PG sims too.

Yes i also hate that secondlife is one of the most innovative tools around, and all people are using it for is for the gestures and sound files

I stick to PG, mostly cause I don't want to run into random porn as I'm walking around.

PG usually means prental guidence, now if i see some tittys in a pg area and run off to call my mom i would probally get "well your 27 years old, if you havent seen some tittys yet im having you commited"

i totally agree with the line statement tho, if you wanna ride a 25m long penis butt naked cussing like a drunken salor by all means do so on mature land, but please try to abide by basic G rules (i wont call it pg becuase of the above statement) if you cross over

and PLEASE nannys stopit, someone may slip out ass or damn once and a while in G land, but ive seen it happen too much where theres some greiftard seeking out public G areas just to get a rise, and if they suceed, what you end up with is some yahoo constantly spouting out stuff that would make satain blush..

Just like any other greifers if you act like they arnt buggin you, they will get bored and dissapear quickly (or stop all together and have a good time)

When I want to have fun with others I go to PG sims. I don't care much for the endless Homer Simpson type noises, along with the idiotic cussing, I hear in mature sims.

When I want to have real fun I go to my own places in mature sims.
