For that reason, I feel LL modify the small parcel of land a resident can own per sim to 512sqm. No, that wouldn't stop the signs, but yes, it would put more of a financial burden on the folks using this advertisement method. It would potentially do away with 96% of the sign parcels. A person would still be allowed to subdivide their land on the 16sqm. grid, but shouldn't be allowed to transfer or own less than the 512sqm. min.

The problem with this would be, how to transition to this goal. I feel LL wouldn't mind going towards a larger minimun parcel, but they haven't figured out how to do it. What would they do with all those 16sqm plots scattered throughout the land? My solution could be costly for LL, but it would be similar to what RL goverments do... imminent domain. Yes, it's an ugly word, and recently it's being abused by governments all over. But, that's my solution. LL pays landowners with less that 512sqm. within a sim the fair market value for the land - not the highly over-priced list price on those tiny plots, but the adjusted average price based on the 512sqm. parcel sales prices in that region. Then, LL would release the land at L$ per sqm. Only the residents currently within the sim would be allowed to purchase the parcels (since they already own the 512sqm. minimum. With any luck, the smaller parcels will be absorbed over time into larger whole parcels.

I like this idea.

But nobody ever cares what i like *sniff..sniff* :(

It's his land, he's free to do that.

If we remove them, next time it'll be your sign they'll remove.

No need to remove them. As I've suggested before, just let the owner of any given plot of land control what other objects can be seen from it. Just display a little twinkling indicator or something to tell players there's a hidden object there.

If you do that, I don't have to worry that if I practice building a permanent structure (which will probably not look too good, that being why I need to practice) I'll get yelled at by my neighbours.

Maybe the reason Linden doesn't worry about the signs is that they have plans for the whole thing to end up being paid for by big companies and the individual users will just be customers.

Unpaid members will probably lose the abilty to script and build, they won't mind because they will just be here to shop.
