Unfortunately I went to see the sim "Wind" as the description sounded nice. I think it is fine for sim owners to use their land for whatever they want - including caging me twice and shooting my friend off the map, I suppose - but be advised that it's not a good place to sightsee.

I went there with some friends and it was nice to look at-specially the huge castle, but overall kinda boring. But you say they're shooting now!? Woo hoo! *grabs her new berettas*

Thank you for this thread!!!

I am a newbie to SL (less than 30 days still), and was having a difficult time finding places to explore. And since I didn't know the names of most of these places, going to "Find" was next to useless. No matter what word I used, 99% of the items that came up involved shopping, casinos/dance places, or sex. The few times I found something else, I cherished those places like a fine gem. I knew there were plenty of talented folks out there, and this thread gives me a chance to see work I may have otherwise missed. As a side note, I see from my reading that ROMA is fairly new. It's one of the rare gems I was able to find. If you haven't seen it yet, it is well worth the trip.

Numbakulla...
01-26-2006 12:45
Sad to see no-one seems to have mentioned Numbakulla in the list of places to see. It is especially good as an antidote to all the commerce, as it was bought with and runs with donations.

There is a free to play immersive game in the sim, but you need not play it if such things are not your sort of thing. Take the flying ship tour of the island and just explore.

Posting a quick picture or three :-)

Two Sims I found Interesting
02-25-2006 09:14
One was called "The Office". Quite Surreal. Very cool!!
The other was "Atlantis", a lil' more on the commercial side, but nicely done I think.

Since both are sims, you should be able to just type the name in on yer map & find 'em.

Alchera appears to be gone! What a shame--it was a big skating area compared to the small rink at Aspen. They still sell the trick 'skoopf' ice skates at least.

The Temple of Hathor in Fujin. This is a big, big Egyptian temple, with a pyramid, tombs, tunnels and gardens. Everytime I go there it has grown a little more, lol, and more to see and do.

Beautiful place to explore (you will get lost, its wonderful, lol) or great for a romantic getaway.

For those interested in Asian-influenced areas, you could try coming to Lopayzanilaya, otherwise known as the Fox's Den. It's basically gardens around a castle keep and Shinto-inspired shrine and a stretch of forest across the cobblestone road. It's located in Apoda, on the northern continent of the mainland, so it's not as spectacular as some of the themed island sims, but I'm rather proud of it. My intent all along was to have essentially a public park.

You should be proud, it was one of the first places I visited in SL and I loved it. :)
