I sell clothes, skins and hair all copy/no transfer with modify permission for hair and any prim attachments for clothing. I really love being able to replace someone's item that they break or lose. Or if an item is updated, I'll gladly give out updates to everyone. With Copy permissions, the person may make as many copies for themselves. As with hair, some people use different shapes and may make different sizes of hair for each one. Some items I sell are tintable, so go ahead and make as many different colors as you wish without needing to recolor each time. Just a few thoughts I had.

From: Haenara Cushing I'd like to hear from some vendors on what makes them decide between making their items 'transfer / no copy' or 'copy / no transfer'. Mainly with regard to clothes, skins etc rather than objects you place in the world separately - where you obviously choose the former.
Lately I've become irritated with clothes that are 'transfer / no copy'. I like to make a folder with a full outfit in it - from body shape to jewellery to clothes - so I can switch to that outfit in 2 clicks. It's SO irritating to have to load most of an outfit then go rooting around for those other few items that you couldn't copy and want to use in multiple outfits! Your clothes don't have to be copy to move them to a new folder. You can drag them to a new folder if you wanted. Alot of people myself included made stuff transfer so that the person is not stuck with the item for ever and so if you make a alt you can give your alt a outfitt. Me I make prim outfitts and I make them mod transfer and no copy. Why I do it that was is not everyone is able to streach or shrink prim outfitts to the body shape they are using, making it mod and transfer enables the person to be able to have a friend fit it to them if the person can't. When I was new to SL I was so cluelss on fitting prim outfitts to my body, and I always had to have a friend streach or shrink it. Now I often fit outfitts to people in need or help friends fit prim stuff to them. Now for skins its silly to make them no mod no transfer, but copyable. Like im going to need a million copys of the same skin |
