You know it would of been really easy for LL to have nipped all this conjecture in the bud if they'd informed the residents about it at the same time as getting the eBay listing up. I mean, if they're going to offer the development out then it would seem to be in their interests to have informed the community with an announcement of what could be in the pipeline. Instead it took somebody to stumble upon it and all the conjecture to roll on before a Linden actually said anything concrete.

Sometimes I wished LL would get some class.

Apologies Moopf - honestly I made the judgement call about not posting the listing thinking that residents would feel "marketed" or "advertised" to. I'm fairly sensitive to not plying my wares in community forums :) In hindsight I could have posted it as a For Your Information.

Thanks for the feedback.

You heard wrong. Please have some class and don't spread silly rumors about other people and groups in the forums.

Hi Eggy -

Orginally there was discussion about selecting a developer beforehand and Bedazzled was considered.

David was going from information that was correct at the time.

Good lord, spam us! We need to know how to integrate our products and strategies to align with what LL is doing!

You know Wilder, I don't understand why you wouldn't of posted it if it was always going to be "out for bid" to the community. I mean, why not involve them if they're the ones you're going to expect to want to bid for the work and support what you've sold?

OK, can you educate us a bit on timing here please, just for complete transparency, because this has all been as clear as mud up to now. I take it when you first posted the island for sale you were not going to offer it out, and this position has changed since the listing was made?

I'm going to use my "get out of jail free" card on this one. If there is a next time then you can bop me on the head. :)

Thanks Moopf

Huh? I guess I'll take that as a side-step to avoid answering my last two posts then. *shrug*

Not a side step at all Moopf, but basically acknowledging that I could have done a much better job involving the community and keeping you informed.

Could have, would have, should have.... stop saying these and DO it.

Do you folks not realise that every 'oops' is one more shred of credibility gone?

Seriously, I'm glad to hear a Linden express that concern. Please carry on. :)

Here's an idea for the future though. Instead of trying to guess how the community would feel...why not ask?
One or two of us have been known to have an opinion.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet since my ADH...what are we talking about...oh yeah...well here:

Currently it is my understanding the most accounts one family can have is 5? That means same residence listed. Currently this auction offers 10?!?!?!

I can understand this and think it has potential in some situations but might be better suited as a offer from the actual website (read as wedding package, group discount, etc.) that way large groups that want to buy an island and give the acounts to staff, family, etc could do so.
