Does this skirt make my avatar look fat?

Haven't checked for females but making fat men is not a good exercise. The fat sliders don't provide enough latitude to portray enough realistic shapes of "fat" or even "significantly overweight."

The thin, fit, and heavy looks are manageable. But fat? The only one it does halfway decently is flabby beer-belly.

To the fat men out there who are trying to recreate themselves as an avatar ... good luck.

I guess we just solved the mystery of why avatars tend towards the "perfect" shapes (thin, fit, heavy).

It's because fat avatars can't be made right.

Yeah, I'm rather skinny, but I don't mind the curves, I recently increased the size of my derriere.

While we're here, I wish the skirt would be fixed. When you finally make the skin disappear you get a ridiculous amount of bustle. The waistband portion of the skirt goes very deep below the skin of the lower back.

I made a kilt and a sarong and the bustle is so large that it looks like I have a station wagon for a butt.

Because of that I'm not going to bother with making a lab coat and trench coat.

I don't like the way the clothing layer skirts blow out your rear end either, so if I want to wear a dress I usually go for flexprim babydoll or empire line dresses, then no-one can see how big your virtual bottom is :)

From: someone

Something a lot of people do is make a slight variation of the shape to account for/counteract the mesh skirt issue. Just slide the hip, butt, and lovehandle sliders down until the skirted proportions seem better. I fought this for awhile, but now I'v accepted it, and have shape variations for mesh skirts, calf-hugging boots, and over-bust corsets now. ^^

I have done this with my avie's shape for my bust - depending on whether or not my avie is wearing an upper garment with support or not I might adjust the gravity and separation sliders a bit. So usually I adjust it so that my bust looks like its properly supported (bit less gravity and less separation) but if my "girls" are hanging free I make a corresponding change :)

I was hoping to avoid that. But if it seems acceptable to some I guess I could use it too.

Thank goodness LL came out with Flexible prims!! I think they look so much better than the mesh skirts and the old static prim skirts.

Problem with flexi skirts is that you got to wear that under-pants thing. Which kills the purpose of a skirt (specially a mini-skirt).

Flexy skirts still work way better than Regular Primed skirts. With flexy, you can flex around the "curves" much easier. If they are done right, they work!!

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waste
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung
Wanna pull up front
Cuz you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring

heard around the sl offices the day they made the avatar code ;)

I have a flexi skirt from Los Altos that doesn't require me to wear anything under it. :D

Totally true on basic, non-flexi skirts making your butt look too big, though. I tend to skip those and stick to silks (a lot), pants and shorts (often), and other, non-silks flexi outfits (occasionally). None of those make my otherwise well-shaped virtual butt suddenly, inexplicably appear to expand to gargantuan proportions.
