As long as your skirt doesn't make my butt look big, it's ok.

One reason I don't wear many skirts: someone here called it "pumpkin butt" the other day, and that's so appropriate. I'm just too lazy to create an alternate shape with a skinny butt just so I can wear skirts. I'll stick with shorts, pants or swimsuits most of the time.

Almost every skirt in SL will make your butt look fat. I have no idea why, it's just something I have noticed.

I just ignore it.

Something a lot of people do is make a slight variation of the shape to account for/counteract the mesh skirt issue. Just slide the hip, butt, and lovehandle sliders down until the skirted proportions seem better. I fought this for awhile, but now I'v accepted it, and have shape variations for mesh skirts, calf-hugging boots, and over-bust corsets now. ^^

Sometimes I see an avatar wearing a dress who is truly curvaceous and womanly. I think we need to rethink our societal programming if we have the idea that curves are not sexy.

Yep, I keep mine slightly more curvy than most, the breasts have realistic gravity and arent obnoxiously huge.. and my butt I steadfastly refuse to make any smaller. Shes got good width and is a little overweight as well.. and hey if I could get away with it clothes wise, she'd be even a little more curvy:)

The AVs I like to look at the most are the ones that feel the most real and importantly... relaxed. Someone that is into making their AV into a somewhat honest representation of their RL selves automatically gets more attention from me inworld... and that happens because barbies are a dime a dozen here but RL looks and taking the time in appearance to make that ahppen speaks mor eto me than a great skin and makeup pack.

Society, curves... sexy... I hope so.. someday.
