From: Rickard Roentgen I vote for this. I like this idea too. But, like with the airplane thing... I have no experience in the area so I would need help. [the idea about the combat dodgeball that is]

To make a race game in which people are racing for money and betting on the winners requires accurate on-course detection, timers, ability to display contestant's names, keep track of bets, pay the contestants and bettors, and other such functions.
Allowing someone at my skill and experience level to script something of that complexity would be a serious error.
Work like that should be done by experienced people with a proven track record of success.

From: DogSpot Boxer A coupla weeks ago I was in a club that had mud wrestling. Whoever made it did a good job, but it was kinda dumb.
All the wrestling was obviously pre-scripted in pose balls. I mean like the Mace Battle (or whatever the correct name is) at ElvenGlen. Circle and two avs trying to knock each other out of it. If the Sumo outfit had some tiny prims with a little push that if you ran into him just right, you get a super push, that would be dandy. And I just want to see people tottering around in giant Sumo suits. Makes me giggle. Would like to see a nice start animation with rice toss and stamping feet. Of course there should be wagering. Love the flying races, too.

From: SuezanneC Baskerville Instead of just rezzing and derezzing the prims to change the settings use the same prims and have them change shape, position and texture changing from one function to the other. That way the changing process itself would be cool. Morphing buildings.
That's.... brilliant.... Ok, I know what I'm going to work on when my backlog clears

Perhaps some animated statues would be a good thing, maybe some statues that are in the classic greek statuary look that would do something like turn their head to look at someone and take one step in their direction would be a freaky thing to see. Or if you could get big statues to do the classic Function Keys dances people might think that was silly.
Another idea would be a place where things would get created and do things based on the contents of people's chat.
Like if someone said Star Trek, a statue or textured prim of a red-shirt Star Fleet cannon fodder guy would appear and get phasered into a particle smoking crisp. Thousands of different things like that. Maybe these could be done simply enough that content creators would provide them in return for advertisements on the site.
A shooting gallery with the targets being images of forum posts from some posters might be popular.
A shooting gallery with images of Linden employees to shoot might draw some visitors.
There's a scripted Lee Linden standup picture that says remarks like"This is a PG area, please watch your language" and other such statements that Liaisons have to make thousands of times. A complete set of such Lindroids might be amusing, especially if you could get the statements to have some bearing on either things the particular person has actually said, or perhaps stuff that has to do with their job description.

Heh, like I don't have enough projects to finish as it is, but if you want help doing dodgeball I think I could do that. Should be a pretty simple system as it is limited in scope.

We may just start something that will catch on!
