Wed, September 28th. I'll still put everything together and send it out, so just get it to me by noon, next Wed.

I just installed Snapz Pro and gave it a try. It worked quite well for me.

I was able to record a 640x480 Second Life window at 30 fps on a Dual 2 GHz G5 with 3 GB of memory without difficulty. I also have QuickTime Pro, so I'm able to export it to any format. If you find that Snapz Pro isn't working well for you, let me know and I can do the filming. The only problem is my time is much less flexible. We'd have to pick a one hour session sometime in the afternoon.

From the contest website, it looks like we'll have to submit early next week so this week and weekend is all we'll have.

I'd appreciate you filming the clips, Zug. Apart from the fact that --with the building of a miniature model of Neualtenburg, the fact that I'm already editing this thing --and my rather bad case of lag on my craptastic computer -- You're a better filmer than I.

I only need a couple of crowd shots actually --but here's a list of some shots I definately want.

A panoramic aerial zoom in on the City.
Shots of an AV in non-bavarian duds flying into the city.
Shots of same AV now strolling thru the streets wearing Bavarian clothes.
A crowd of pickelhaube military , dancing Thriller in a line dance.
The swan circling around the canal
Expo shots.
Chicken Hat. Chicken Hat, Chicken Hat.

I'll be ussing some stills I have to fill in the rest --but if anyone has historic shots of Neualtenburg in it's early stages being built in Anzere or movis and or clips of last year's Oktoberfest --that would be great!

I'll be setting this to a rock and roll version of Beethoven's Ode to a Joy.

I'll take responsibility for scheduling and executing the filming. I won't be able to film until Friday though. Once I'm done, I'll convert all the footage to mpeg4 or H.264 (whichever compresses with the highest quality), and have them ready for download by Saturday at the latest.

Does a resolution of 320x240 sound good or would you like me to try 640x480 (four times the download time)?

Let's go for 320X240. With the time crunch we're facing, I also would rather smaller files so I can edit quicker You're a doll for doing this, Zug Thanx!

I will be filming tonight most likely from 1900 to 2000 PDT. I might even start a little earlier at 1800 PDT but it depends on demands at home. Show up to be on film if you'd like.

Sorry I missed this! My computer blew up on Thursday evening, and while I'm able to get on the forums on my hubby's comp, I'm having issues getting his computer to work with SL. He has duel monitors and I had the same issue summer before last while in NY on my mom's comp that has duel monitors. It is a really freaky bug.

At any rate, I should have at least a temp decent computer by tonight or tomorrow and I'll be able to be back in world. But I am *very* sorry I missed being able to help with this!

ooh! Our first city plague?? No one kiss me or Garnet for at least 5 days!

speaking of plagues -- I came down with a very very bad cold (might be flu) this morning --all I know is I can't speak above a whisper, and I'm coughing things out of my mouth that could easily evolve into a new life form. I might still be able to edit this film, but frankly if anyone else can edit, I'd really really appreciate it --I'm in horrible shape and would if possible rather not have to worry about this and just try and sleep. I probably overdid it protesting yesterday who knows.

Wow! It looks great.

*Sniff* Some of the pictures made me sad. I especially like that picture with you and me standing together in front of the store on the Platz. It's my favorite. I also liked all the shots of the different residents. Garnet photographs very well.

I really appreciate you doing this, especially knowing that you're not feeling well. If you're finished with edits, I can move a copy of it to www.neualtenburg.org so the downloads don't count against your .Mac bandwidth limit, if you'd like.

I'm currently working on the text that will accommodate this and should have it posted to this thread by the end of tonight. The submission is due anytime tomorrow. All Satchmo will have to do is take the text and send it by email to State of Play email address.

Thanks --that would be great if you could move it I was worried how it would go over, my head feels like it's stuffed with wet rags, and I've been editing whilst on a nyquil high.

If you would like additional changes but are too pooped to go on, let me know what you'd like and I can make those changes, if you send me a URL to the iMovie file. I can add text, film and integrate some more footage, or whatever is needed.


Also, the text for the entry should come in right around 12:00 PDT tomorrow instead of tonight.
