I'm asking this question for the third time : Is there a way to automatically align prims without painstaking effort that for me often results in gaps and jagged edges...? I heard there are some building tools out there
Thanks

Are you trying to get them in a straight line or do circles etc?
if its a straight line all you do is shift copy the prim and then add or subtract the width of the prim to the aqxis in the direction you wish to go. IE. a 10x0.25x10 prim set at coordinates of 20.0,20.0,0.0.... drag the copy and make is 30.0,20.0,0.0 or 10.0,20.0,0.0 and it will but up perfectly |

You can also edit one prim, chose create from the edit menu, then click on copy up at the top of the menu and click on the side of the prim you want your copy to appear on. That will make them join perfectly. As for corners, thats a little harder
You can copy the top (to place copy on the top), side's, back, front etc. Whatever side you click on the prim will be where the copy is attached to. |

You could try PrimDocker, which is pretty effective at aligning prims' centers & edges, among other things. It's not quite automatic, but very useful!

For some applications, you can select the prims and hit shift-X.
It will snap it back to the grid, depending on the grid increment setting. |

Thanks everyone. I'll try those things. About Prim docker - there is nothing cheaper, is there?

well the basics need some knowledges of geometry.
Like when i want to build a house , lets say i have a wall that is .5m thick and 6m long, i will place it to an easy value, like x 120.0 y 120.0 i make a second wall that i want to place at a 90 degrees angle from the first lets say 6m long and .5 thick to place the second wall properly you will have to put it at 117.25, here is a picture cause i am bluring myself -_- _____________________

You can also select the object you want to copy, then in "create" choose "copy selection" and then just click on the face of the object in the direction you want the copy. You will create a perfectly aligned, perfect copy. Much easier than dragging and pasting in coordinates.

Another Tool to align Prims is Skidz Primz.
The full Version is 1450 L$ (does more than only align). A lite Version for align only should be available soon. |
