From: Albion DeVaux I would second the recommendation of Juro, although I think it says in his profile that he isn't taking on more work right now. His new Habitat (sounds rather familiar to any Brit) furniture shop is the best commercial building I've seen in SL. It's certainly the most convincing high street shop I've encountered. It's not especially big or experimental but the eye for detail and execution is top drawer.
I don't know him personally either. Habitat are a great shop/store owned by the IKEA group or Kamprad private.. Sir Conran sold it many years ago. ***** Juro are my favorite. And yes I know the other names.. they are good to.. and yes there are more ones in SL.. and why not dare to try a new constellation.. and get something new? ***** / EXAKT Tina (PetGirl) Bergman

Aw, Margot. I *have* been doing projects in SL for real-life businesses -- for a long time now. For example, my company recently did a project for Strong Angel III http://www.strongangel3.net. Some of my other clients are UC Davis Medical Center, Global Kids, New York Law School, Languagelab.com . . . there's a bunch of info at my Web site http://www.themagicians.us. Two of those clients I just listed came straight from ads I found in the classifieds here on the forums. I see good leads there all the time. It isn't necessary to buy a zillion ads or "suck up" to anyone in order to do RL paying work in Second Life. It makes me sad, this weird sort of perceived division between people who do "real" work in SL and the rest of the community. I'd say more about that, but it isn't really on topic . . . maybe I should blog it. *hugs* Margot! I will look for you inworld.

From: Margot Abattoir sorry, know this thread isn't about writing, but loved that phrase, petgirl!!! Its like SL.. and Pixels in the Wind and...and... and.. http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~dolan/constellations/extra/constellations.htmlLets call it something new that dare to do somthing new.. and one or two that dare to invest in a new world in the new world SL ) ...and.. why must SL be as IRL?... we now see more and more of that world (IRL) coming into SL - a world that can be so much more than that called real... Get inspired through real in the wall.. do something new... dare to! / EXAKT Tina (PetGirl) Bergman - right now viewing a documentary about Mayakovsky. ) http://mayakovsky.comhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Mayakovsky

Vist Dane Zander's Lost Gardens of Apollo IMMEDIATELY for a reference of one of the best sims in SL. Compare this sim to the work of anyone applying to do work for you and you'll know basically if you're dealing with a schlep or a great designer.
Agree ... LGO is a fantastic sim . 2 other great builders ... Scope Cleaver and DNA Prototype ....I realy like what they do ,It's a matter of taste but imho both of them are very good at what they do ....And scope is a very very nice guy into the bargin

From: kyela Aubret ....AND explore the hell out of the world to find those great builders no one has heard of yet. The humble guys. this is by far the best advice anyone can follow... and yes, there are alot of us humble builders out there that no one knows about and most of us even love to build for the pure fun of just building...
