I'm not organized enough to have a list :), but hopefully I've gotten copies of BezierGen to everyone who asks. No one has mentioned any problems and a few people have confirmed that the tool works for them. If anyone makes something useful with it, I'd be interested in hearing about it. If no one brings up problems soon, I will probably go ahead and make it available in-world so people don't have to contact me (and wait for me to be in SL) to get it.

FYI, BezierGen is now available for free with my other tools courtesy of Dolmere and Mera at: Osterhout (233, 16). Thanks for the feedback.

Well, I shall now give up on my attempt at making a 16-point bezier patch maker, since what you've done seems to fulfill most of what I was trying to do, and the math is driving me (the non-mathematician) insane. :D

Suggestion: Incorporate control-point rotation calculations into your pathing, to spin the curve around its center axis based on the rotation of the control points. Ergo: Spin the control point around to spin the ribbon around.

That would allow the ribbon to twirl around on any axis, as well as doing stuff like "banked corners" for a road-sized ribbon.

You already seem to be 2/3rds of the way to there, since you are doing curve rotation calculations on the X and Y axis. Extend it into the Z axis next.

Also, there has been some talk of attempting to conserve on prims with some fancy use of of the hollow cut torus (for the patch-maker I'm doing) and hollow cut cylinders (for a strip-ribbon maker like this), which could greatly reduce the prim-usage in the curves. Though this is somewhat limited for bigger curve builds, since very large and gently sloping curves would require cylinders and torii with diameters far beyond 10 meters.

I just found this tool along with the others Shape/PrimArray/etc... but I am having a little bit of trouble with Bez! Could anyone give a tutorial in-world, I would be forever greatful, Cad I'm sure is busy (as many of you are as well) and has made it clear that he would not be able to support such a request (which is understood and warranted) but their are a few of you seasoned enough to lend a hand and unfortunately I am lost without you. I generally would not ask such a favor from the community but I work HORRENDUS HOURS and the time I spend In world is precious, many times it is late at night when I get home and I've attempted to follow the instructions but I can't seem to understand what I'm doing maybe it's the days stress, anyhow I would be willing to compensate if neccesary:/

Thank you in advance to all that Reply!

Scalar - Just so you know, the odds of me trying to make a surface patch are very slim. I don't think going from 2 to 3 dimensions is going to be just 1/3 harder for me :) To the extent that I can find time, my real goal with this is a lathe operator. So, I hope my tool isn't a discouragement. The rotating control points to rotate the ribbon sounds like a good idea, I'll definitely consider that for a future version.

Demolaous - A few people have contacted me in the past about plans to teach a class on using my tools. Maybe you can find something like that iin the event listings.
