How to unhighlight prim?

I am trying to build a small item.

When I go into edit mode the golden highlights overwelm the object to the point I can no longer see it.

Kind of hard to work on something you can't see.

Is there a solution? A way to unhighlight an edit selected item?

Either the prim was set to light in the objects tab of the edit interface or the texture on the prim was checked full bright in the texture tab. You can check to see which it is and just check the option you want. Good luck!

Actually I think he's talking about the selection highlight. The only way I know of to make something small is to make it larger then shrink it. Little easier to control the finer points in the pieces too. And it's fun to work on 6' tall earrings as well :)
