I'm new at building/creating. I just tried to select a texture for a pair of shoes I made, and despite the fact that I have hundreds of textures in my inventory, I get the message: No matching items in inventory.
Please help!

Yeah that's a nasty bug that unfortunately got introduced in the last update. Hopefully it gets fixed very very soon.
In the meantime, you can drag textures straight from your inventory onto a prim in order to apply the texture, but be aware that method only textures a single face of a prim at a time, the face you dragged the texture on. Congratulations on diving into building Sorry this bug is making things difficult, but rest assured you're not doing anything wrong; let's hope things get fixed quickly.edit: more tips and workarounds discussed here |

Thanks, Anti. I'll give dragging a try.

texture search workaround

The texture search can be tiggered by typing the full name of the texture you want, then backspacing back to the first two letters. The texture file names will appear and then you can use parametric refinement to find the one you want.
Example: texture file name 'Whitewood.tga' type Whitewood in the search box and get no files found. Then backspace until you have only 'Wh'. The file names appear at that point and you can then continue typing 'Whitewood" and you'll find your texture. It's annoying as hell.... |
