Yes, that helps, and I have found rezzing further away from yourself helps too. In other words, try rezzing the object 15m away from you rather than 5m, seems to be more successful.

When I work on my megaprim platform I switch to "work mode".
That rezzes an invisible 10*10 right under me and JUST above the floor. This temporary floor follows me wherever I go. Stuff rezzes fine then.
