Hello Builders:
Linden Lab is working on the new Infohubs and needs your help! We will soon be retiring the free content currently available at the Telehubs and replacing it with brand new items via the Infohubs.
We are seeking content to be given away free to all Residents! This is your chance to get your products and items into the hands of Residents as a way to show off your talents or promote your business.
Guidelines for the submission and distribution of free content are as follows:
• Items should be submitted on the 15th of each month. For this month, December 2005, please begin dropping items now.
• Residents may submit one item per month to Libby “Library” Linden. Please include in the folder a picture and note card with a written description of the item.
• New items will be populated and rotated out monthly.
• Once a Resident's item has been used there will be a one month break before one of his or her items can be used again.
• Please label your item clearly and whether it should be placed in the Home, Things, or Appearance category (see below for ideas).
• Content considered Mature in nature will not be accepted.
• Residents may include one note card and one landmark per item box/folder.
• Although submission does not guarantee distribution, content that is deemed appropriate will be added to the kiosk on a first come first serve basis with the above timing rules in place.
CATEGORIES:
Home: This category is for developing your land in Second Life and can include furniture, housing, landscaping, pools, hot tubs, garden builds, décor, and textures.
Things: This category is a catch-all for products and items that enhance the Second Life experience, and can include vehicles, boats, games, scripts, player vs. player items, vendor tools, and all around fun things!
Appearance: This category is for continuing to fill Second Life with a wonderful mix of Residents, and can include skins, hair, jewelry, clothing, shoes, avatars, and accessories.
ITEM CONSIDERATIONS:
As a reminder items that are considered Mature by nature will not be used for distribution.
Residents may assign whatever permissions they choose to an item.
Respect digital rights as Linden Lab fully complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
SUBMISSION:
Simply drop your item on Libby Linden any time. Please remember to label the item clearly and package it with any note card and/or landmark you decide to distribute.
Questions? Please direct them to Libby Linden.
Thank your for continuing to make Second Life a great place to live!

Residents may assign whatever permissions they choose to an item.
Are we supose to give you items full permissions and tell you what permissions to assign to them, or give them to you with our intended permissions and you will use your magical linden powers to overcome them?

"• Although submission does not guarantee distribution, content that is deemed appropriate will be added to the kiosk on a first come first serve basis with the above timing rules in place." Sounds like there's not going to be much of a vetting process. This worries me... I spend a lot of my spare SL time hunting freebies and I can tell you that 90% are pointless rubbish, and some of the items which are really handy and interesting (Invisiprims for example) are not easy to get. I realise that as a public service there can't be favoritism shown, but there is a real danger that the hubs are just going to be more boringness. Example: you'ce stated the restriction of one product per person every other month. Ok sounds sensible... Except say a big company has 20 members maybe half with alts... thats 15 adverts for the same company each month? I may have the wrong end of the stick here as the initial post doesnt really explain what measures will be taken to ensure that the hubs will not go the same way as the events list where its a valuble service but it is harrowing trawling through the amount of 'events' which are not actually events but just adverts I would also like it to be noted that I did see the event post for the meetings about his but couldn't make them

That would be ideal Barnesworth - the permissions thing is proving to be a bit tricky

From: Dyne Talamasca Start a monthly review of what's available at the hubs that is interesting and useful, and what is not... Sure. Make it publicly available via the InfoNet at the InfoHubs as well.
