Does anyone think this is a good idea?

Provide a free newspaper with news relating to the world and such, in the form of a note card. How could this be done.. and if it could be I would love to write it.. It could be a weekly thing.. Anyone like this idea?

I could start and officee by my house.

Skippy I think this is a great idea.

I was thinking of something along similar lines...the Linden Saver...where we could list sale items from designers and shopkeepers around the world.

We encourage the listers to offer our readers a special low price, this attracts more customers to their front door. And our readers will get the benefit of sale pricing and special deals. Win-win situation.

Maybe we can team up, and combine our ideas into a free paper with event and product reviews, tips and how-to articles and bargain listings.

Whaddaya think :)

I was thinking that anyway... Ummm but how do we distribute it? I was thinking like newstands that when you click it, you get a notecard and thats the paper.. But would we have to change the code every week and the other problem is.. I don't script :-( so if someone wants to donate one it would be awesome!

If you want to use a vending box, it can be easily modified to not charge. Also, changing the note card each week really doesn't require scripting skills. I mean, if i can do it....;)

just take the old one out... and put in the new one...that takes no scripting changing at all... leave the script alone... just change the notes... (keep the name the same)
if you want help.... find me in game and ill see what i can do... ill probably be at the OSS store... or charlies store... depends on what charlie wants to call it :P

Also, I would like to have many veding machines.. I already have a new desgin that I can show you all tonight... I would also like to take user submissions for articals I made a mailbox at my house is there a way to reverse the script so they get sent to me when I am not availible or not online or something.. Again I would like to do this in notecard form.

Anyone wanna do the scripting? And anyone looking for me in-game I will be around lusk or Perry tonight.. I really dislike the lag in the wlecome area.

What's up, Hunter? First you offer them a dispenser, and THEN you cry about competition =)

More I think about it, the more I'm liking the idea of a SLenquirer type rag. Chock full'a embarassing / compromising photos, etc. Oh! And weekly horoscopes. And... stuff =)

No competition for y'all tho -- my little pub will be strictly sleeze type stuff.

Ok so far if all goes as planned the first issue will be going out next tuesday! YEY! Again until I can get the mail box working please give me any articals you would like to include, all will be reviewed and kept any that don't get used may be used in a later paper. Please give these in notcard form. Again I will be around my little house next to the giant submarine in lusk all night so you can give it to me in person...

Great work. I've been thinking about adding traditional ASCII art to my SL newspaper but haven't gotten around to creating anything especially interesting...

Just thinking the idea of having "pictures" in the newsletters is very cool.

There is a program that will allow you to take any picture and make it into text. Its pretty good. Saw it on The Screen Savers once, a TV Show on Tech TV. Forgot the name of it, try looking on www.thescreensavers.com
