If we could come up with a prefab house that doubles as a detachable penis, then we'd really have a winning product. The tag line for the ad could go something like this: "Live in it. Love with it"

Logcabins
02-20-2005 23:53
I sooo hate those brightly coloured log-cabins.. like wood would stay clean and-cherrywood-coloured when exposed to weather.. so... i made a nice dark-coloured log-cabin... vegetation on the outside.. real nice.. its gona be up for sale tonight (CET) .. its "nice and spacious" (Nitelife Chaos) "nice wood" (Jimmy Thomson yay

I have the house you are looking for!
02-21-2005 01:59
From: Mystic Dusk there are a ton of great prefabs out there but the main problem is not everybody owns a sim. the houses are gorgeous but totally out of control prim wise. i can buy a great looking house & stick it on my 1536 & then not be able to put much else into it cuz the house takes up most of my prim allotment.
please build great houses for the 1536 & under people...houses under 40 prim Hi there A friend directed me to this discussion...it just so happens that I built a Gothic Start house yesterday. My friend Zapoteth Zaius has allowed me to put it out at his place in Hina, Gothic Towers. It is under 50 prims, including three doors, and is meant for people with the minimum allowance. It is...unusual. Zap says that newbs want something plain and simply, but I reckon there is quite a lot of plain and simple out there. It is the Goth-loving newbie who has been without a house...until now lol. I hope I have attached a picture...but if not, go to gothic Towers at Hina 125, 39 and check it out - it is in a dispenser on the wall in front of you. I made it as easy as possible for new people - if you buy from the dispenser it puts a box in your inventory, if you rezz the box on your land and click it, it delivers a note card with full instructions...all this, only 47 prims and all for $100. best wishes Catherine

From: Juro Kothari Here's a sneak peek at the new prefab home I mentioned. I'm pretty excited about this house, as it will have features never before offered in my homes. Is this home "installed" in the Parrot Island sim? (fly way up to the floating subdivision)

No... the house has not yet been released. The only one of my homes, that I know of, on Parrot island is the Riverside, on the tiny island in the corner.

Sophos... post if you have something to add to the thread please. If you want to *advertise*, put it in your sig or start a new thread.
I'm trying to keep this on-track, as it's a discussion beneficial for all builders.

Yes, I saw that thread. Interesting that people are looking for prefab offices and wharehouses. Considering how popular castles are, I would say this is probably the niche with the greatest growth potential.

exactly what i thought..
though prefab castles score best atm.. funny.. coz they wont be 1 part.. so people will have to assemble the castle on the spot.. whitch most people hate to do
i think im gonna need a scripter for that castle LOL
(btw Zoey Jade is workin for me these days.. yay.. lets get rid of the custom waitinglist)

Pre-Fab
03-29-2005 06:11
I have bought a wide variety pre-fab homes. I like the idea of pre-fab because you get a lovely home in virtually a second vs building one of your own. I would loveee to see, and I have bought some pre-fabs with the ability to do this ........ to be given the option to take it apart ... I have a couple pre-fab castles where I took off the back wall and added another front section so you can enter from the front or back...its REALLY cool! I like intregrating my creativity with someone elses. The ability to change out textures is awesome. Pleaseee I beg you pre-fab sellers: add extra (modifiable) pieces of walls, floors, stairs, columns to the package (in a complimentary or identical texture to the pre-fab) so the homeowner can customize...
The more creativity options you can give the homeowner the happier they will be! Also, has anyone ever thought of selling pre-fab swimming pools (really cool, contemporary ones) with working diving boards, waterfalls, underwater lights and splash effects? I could never build a cool pool but I bet someone could!

Good suggestions Alyssa. I cannot speak for other prefab builders, but all of my prefab homes are set to allow copy and modify. You can customize these homes to suit your tastes. Change a texture, add on to the structure or whatever you like.

I could never build a cool pool but I bet someone could! I too also make sure ALL my prefab buildings are 100% copy and modable, also I tend to make sure that all the surfaces in a room are all changeable, without messing up a neighboring room (IE no wall sharing). I too cannot speak for other builders, but we do not like to use textures in lue of windows and such, as this makes it almost impossible for customer customization. I could never build a cool pool but I bet someone could! I do know of a few prefab sellers that include pools with their homes. I also sell a prefabricated pool (20 prim) for around $120 that is also 100% customizable, and we have many more on the way. - Sam
