I don't use Maya, I'm not lucky enough to be able to afford that. I'd imagine though that you need specially set up bases to sculpt from so that it can be loaded into Second Life. Have you been able to takenthe time to look through and find out how to sculpt for Second Life using Maya? There are a few very very knowlegable people on the subject of Maya, I'm sure they will be along shortly to help you out. If not, I highly recomend looking through the forums. I remember a few Maya threads since sculpties came out. BY THE WAY why did you feel the need to use an alt to ask? We know it's you ;p --> /8/1a/220695/1.html

I don't use Maya. But it looks to me like some of your UV space got warped.

It's hard to tell from your pictures but I think what I see is level of detail artifacts. You should be able to confirm this by cranking your graphics object detail setting all the way to the right. If it looks ok then it's a problem with level of detail and you'll need to allow for it in the modeling stage. Current level of details are 6, 8, 16 and 32 faces. From 32 to 16 and then to 8 is done by removing inbetween vertices, so the faces double in size. If the vertex removed is in a corner then you will see stuff like in your pictures where |_ becomes \
Another option is that the sculptie map orientation is wrong and the seam is at the top and bottom instead of at the left and right edges. Not sure how the export works in Maya, but if it uses the UV map then rotating it 90 degrees (and maybe flipping on x if sculptie ends up inside out) should sort that.

but i used NURBS SPHERE to make it. i don't have UVmap. i just traight export from nurbs object to sculptie map for SL. i don't know how to change object for correctly. i make Bugs Bunny by every parts from NURBS SPHERE "body, foot, hand ..." and compose it to one object. i tried to make it many time from polygon but not okay.
