I decided I'm goin to attempt to run a game online and see how well it works out. I am currently constructing an auto res adventure that will double as the combat grid. Your avatar will be the miniature for combat situations, and grids will res the proper settings as the adventure moves along. I will script dice via voice commands : EX: /D20 /D6 ect... I would like to gauge participation ahead of time, so please respond if you are intrested. Some experience is required - at least familiar enough with the system to make a character Note : since the sale of TSR to wizards of the coast - almost all the 2nd edition books are available online in PDF if you look around. Xavier

It's a pity tieflings weren't really around in 2nd Ed.. I just started my tiefling AV based off of my MUSH character Ketra, and that would be sooo fun to use. ;P

I still plan on doing this I just had a bit of a setback. You can thank Red Rogers for deleting the ressing combat grids. I need to grab a copy from Charlie and continue from the point his copy is at.
I was going to post earlier but it would have been a massive flame, however I'm about over it and will continue work shortly.
I am going to set up a yahoo group for the game where we can get all the character information. When its completed I will post the link.
I also need to know who does not have at least the second edition players handbook, also please pm me if you would have an issue with using teamspeak ( voice chat software ).
This grids I am speaking of will res all the pre-set combat scenarios in the same 60 x 40 grid. So it can be used for taverns, citys, dungeons ect... The av's will be the 'miniatures' for the game. I would like to use teamspeak for the roleplaying aspect of the game.
Thanks Xavier

Feel free to contact me when this gets going... I would love to get some shots of this, especially if your avs look like your characters.
Bye bye for now, Alexis

This sounds really cool, I think... Gives me a reason to make another av. I used to have a whole bunch of 2nd Ed. stuff, but I ended up giving it away to a friend cuz I never had the time to use it, eheh. Unfortunately, I haven't really played AD&D for a number of years, so I'd need a good refresher course...

This sounds like fun. I'd love to play.
I was also thinking that the possibilities in Second Life seem so limitless. Do you all think it would be feasible to build an adventure game within the game? Imagine if a game like, say, Everquest was just one facet of the whole existing within Second Life.
It would be a massive undertaking, and I don't know much about scripting, but couldn't it be done?
Wishfully thinking,
Merriman

Wow this sounds really cool!
The idea of blding the monsters and sets and what not and then playing using them as props seems like a very very cool SL idea. More true in some sense to the original form - stand around as your avatar and move pieces around, etc. Imagine DM as the only guy allowed to fly! You move through the levels and they float above managing the game. What a strange and interesting idea.
