Thanks Gaia, I re-read the forum and created an identical script to yours, now fully tested and a happy customer.
So long as this undocumented version of this call remains it works very well.
It does need to be installed before final linking, the other version could be dropped in at anytime.

I just wanted to apply my script on an object in a new linkset. But i realised that this trick does not work any longer (for me). Since today an object gets flagged as phantom as soon as the script i mentioned above is applied to it. And the "Phantom" checkmark can NOT be unchecked on that object unless i set llVolumeDetect(FALSE) again.

Can you verify that ?

Did anyone try my offerings? I put them on xstreet for easy access

Gaia, it seems to work OK for me. Yes, the prim you place that script into does appear to want to remain checked as Phantom, unless you run the reverse instance of the script. But if you re-link it to other prims, the other prims remain solid and the linked one with the script in it remains phantom.

I tried it on a pair of sculpted stair tread sections in one of my builds, and it worked brilliantly! I was able to link the two sculpted tread sections to the rest of the build, and still was able to use the stairs.

Making the bounding box exactly match a sculpt may be great in some instances, but this seems much easier.

Those are really curious! When I walk through them, yes, they act almost like a phantom prim, and yet I don't walk through them in a straight line. I get deflected to one side as I pass through them.

My problem has just been sorted out in another thread ;-)

It turns out that the script only works when it is applied BEFORE the object is added to the linkset. So everything is OK for me now ;-)
